Die zwlf runden Kugeln der Ball Clock sollten damals fr das beginnende Atomzeitalter und den Fortschrittsglauben stehen.

Die berühmte Ball Clock ist ein Entwurf des George Nelson Office aus dem Jahr 1947 und wurde schon immer in unterschiedlichn Farbvarianten ausgeführt. Der eigentliche Entwurf entstand dabei im Laufe eines geselligen Abends, an dem George Nelson, Iving Harper, Isamu Noguchi und Buckminster Fuller teilnahmen. Die zwölf runden Kugeln der Ball Clock sollten damals für das beginnende Atomzeitalter und den Fortschrittsglauben stehen. Die Kugel als ein Sinnbild für das Atom wurde in den 1950er Jahren häufig als Designelement eingesetzt - wie bei dem Antelope Chair von Ernest Race oder bei den Möbelentwürfen von Greta Grossman. Good watch, worth the purchase
