Der Mustang 2020 ist mit einer Reihe von neuen Funktionen und Verbesserungen ausgestattet, darunter ein aktualisiertes Design, ein neues Fahrwerk und neue Motoren. Das Design ist aggressiver und sportlicher als das des Vorgängermodells. Das Fahrwerk wurde überarbeitet, um ein besseres Handling und eine verbesserte Stabilität zu bieten. Die Motorenpalette wurde um einen neuen 2,3-Liter-EcoBoost-Turbomotor mit 310 PS erweitert.

Der Mustang 2020 ist in einer Reihe von Ausstattungsvarianten erhältlich, darunter Base, EcoBoost, GT und Shelby GT350.
