INTRODUCTION:

Welcome to the Complying with the ECEC Approved Learning Frameworks course. This course only includes a challenge assessment designed to assess your knowledge and skills required to demonstrate competence in understanding and applying approved learning frameworks across curriculum decisions, pedagogy, play-based learning, intentional teaching, inclusion, documentation, assessment, critical reflection, family partnerships and alignment with the National Quality Standard and service philosophy.

Complying with the ECEC Approved Learning Frameworks involves applying Belonging, Being and Becoming: The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia V2.0 and My Time, Our Place: Framework for School Age Care in Australia V2.0 to support children’s learning, development, wellbeing, identity and participation. This work is important because educators must use the approved learning frameworks to guide curriculum planning, strengthen children’s agency and voice, embed respectful relationships and partnerships, support inclusion and equity, recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives, and use reflective practice to improve educational decision-making.

The course assessment focuses on your ability to understand the purpose, scope and structure of the approved learning frameworks; apply the Early Years Learning Framework V2.0 and Framework for School Age Care V2.0; embed belonging, being and becoming in curriculum decisions; apply principles of secure relationships, partnerships and high expectations; embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives, cultural responsiveness and diversity; use play-based learning, intentionality and responsive teaching; support children’s agency, voice, decisions and participation; plan curriculum for learning, development and wellbeing; observe, document, assess and evaluate learning through the planning cycle; apply learning outcomes to curriculum and interactions; support inclusion and equity; strengthen family and community partnerships; use critical reflection; and align framework practices with the National Quality Standard and service philosophy.

By successfully completing this course assessment, you will have demonstrated that you can comply with the ECEC Approved Learning Frameworks by applying framework principles, practices and learning outcomes, supporting children’s agency and participation, planning and evaluating curriculum, embedding inclusion and cultural responsiveness, strengthening partnerships with families and communities, using critical reflection and aligning educator practice with the National Quality Standard and service philosophy.
