"An indispensable and riveting account" of the CIA's development and use of torture, from the cold war to Abu Ghraib and beyond (Naomi Klein, The Nation)

In this revelatory account of the CIA's fifty-year effort to develop new forms of torture, historian Alfred W. McCoy locates the deep roots of recent scandals at Abu Ghraib and Guant namo in a long-standing, covert program of interrogation. A Question of Torture investigates the CIA's practice of "sensory deprivation" and "self-inflicted pain," in which techniques including isolation, hooding, hours of standing, and manipulation of time assault the victim's senses and destroy the basis of personal identity. McCoy traces the spread of these practices across the globe, from Vietnam to Iran to Central America, and argues that after 9/11, psychological torture became the weapon of choice in the CIA's global prisons, reinforced by "rendition" of detainees to "torture-friendly" countries. Finally, McCoy shows that information extracted by coercion is worthless, making a strong case for the FBI's legal methods of interrogation.

Scrupulously documented and grippingly told, A Question of Torture is a devastating indictment of inhumane practices that have damaged America's laws, military, and international standing.

Monkee-doodle loves that it has a crinkle sound when playing tug-of -war
Color: Crinkle Chicken (Yellow), Size: Large
Monkee-doodle likes this toy because it has a squeaker and it also has a crinkle noise maker inside. She loves playing with the toy and it’s easy to spot since it is bright yellow in color. It is suitable for dogs and doesn’t have any pieces that can come loose and harm your pet.

Love it.
Color: Bunny (Beige), Size: Large
Good quality and well worth the price. My dog loves it. The squeaky part is fun, and the crinkly, tear-resistant paper in the ears makes playtime even more exciting.

Favorite balls
Color: Multicolor, Size: 6 PACK
I never thought that my black lab mix could enjoy a ball more than the slightly larger silicon (sp) ones we have used for years. The sound has her ears up from the moment I pick one up. Please not, these are not indestructible. Throwing them away once they break open (for heavy chewers) is best.

Dog loves these
Color: Multicolor, Size: 6 PACK
Perfect balls for dogs who chew the squeaker out. These have the felt going over the plastic squeaker piece. Super bright colors and perfect size for medium and small dogs.

So far so good!
Color: Multicolor, Size: 24 PACK
So far so good! Our Belgian Malinois/Black Lab mix goes through other brands of squeaky tennis balls in a matter of days. Including the ones that cost 2.00 a piece. Thrilled to see that the first one is still intact after a couple of weeks of play. She must squeak them if they are in her mouth so they do get quite a workout. I would highly recommend them.
