Death threats were frequent, enraged fans stabbed him twenty-one times, and he was even doused with acid. Undeterred, Blassie just took the action up a level. He reveled in being the heel. It was commonplace to see him biting his opponents and then spitting out their blood. Blassie would routinely file his teeth during interviews. His matches in Los Angeles' Olympic Stadium brought him to the attention of Hollywood. Freddie's style and unpredictability made him a natural for the medium, and he became one of the biggest draws in the wrestling business. In the early '60s, he was invited to wrestle in Japan. Blassie both horrified and mesmerized sedate Japanese society.At seventeen, Freddie made his wrestling debut in a carnival. Unhappy with his choice of occupation, his family persuaded him to get a real job, and for a while he worked as a meatcutter. But after serving in the Navy in World War II, Freddie returned to wrestling. Here he picked up his catch phrase: pencil neck geek.
Early in his career, Blassie wrestled for Jess McMahon, and would later work for both his son, Vincent James McMahon, and his grandson, Vincent Kennedy McMahon, the current owner of World Wrestling Entertainment. (TM) When his days in the ring ended, Classy Freddie Blassie became the manager of heels, transferring to a whole new generation of wrestlers the style, moves, and ring knowledge that had made him a legend of wrestling.
Released just prior to his death, Legends of Wrestling: Classy Freddie Blassie contains vibrant tales of his days in wrestling with the likes of Hulk Hogan, Killer Kowalski, and the Iron Sheik. He frankly chronicles his dealings with the wrestling fraternity and the promoters, even recounting the infamous boxer vs. wrestler match with Muhammad Ali, who was managed by Blassie.
His out-of-the-ring stories are equally compelling. Freddie details his countless sexual exploits, and his three marriages. He reflects on the cult status that he gained after his song Pencil Neck Geek rocketed to the top of the Dr. Demento Show play list. He recounts his touching relationship with comedian Andy Kaufman, who cast him in Breakfast with Blassie -- an underground classic in which Blassie uttered: What the hell ever happened to the human race?
Added to this edition is an epilogue, recounting Freddie's last days and his unforgettable funeral.

Use it daily to get sunscreen off

I use this every single day to remove my sunscreen at the end of the day. If you wear SPF daily you know how hard it is to fully get it off with a regular cleanser. This oil breaks it down completely without scrubbing or tugging at your face.
The gentleness is what keeps me coming back. I massage it onto dry skin for about a minute and everything dissolves. Sunscreen, any makeup residue, whatever built up during the day. It rinses clean with water and leaves zero greasy residue behind. My skin feels fresh after, not stripped or tight.
No fragrance and no colorant. I appreciate that because my skin reacts to basically everything unnecessary in a formula. Zero skin irritation after months of daily use. The ingredients are simple and effective. Olive oil based with vitamin E and it doesn't try to do too much. Just cleans thoroughly and gets out of the way.
My skin appearance has honestly improved since I started using this consistently. I think properly removing sunscreen every night was the missing step in my routine. Pores look cleaner, fewer random breakouts, and my other products absorb better on freshly cleansed skin.

Still One of the Best Cleansing Oils I’ve Ever Used After Years of Repurchasing

I rarely stay loyal to skincare products for years because I’m always testing and trying new things, but DHC Deep Cleansing Oil is one of the very few products that has remained a permanent part of my routine. I’ve repurchased this multiple times over the years, and every time I try another cleansing oil, I eventually come back to this one because the performance is just consistently good.
The first thing that stands out is how effective it is at removing makeup. I wear waterproof mascara, eyeliner, sunscreen, and long-wear foundation regularly, and this breaks everything down incredibly fast without needing to aggressively rub my skin. I usually apply one pump onto dry hands and massage it onto my dry face for about 30 seconds. You can literally feel the makeup dissolving almost immediately, especially around the eye area where stubborn makeup usually takes extra effort to remove.
What I really appreciate is that it removes heavy makeup in one application. I don’t have to go back in multiple times or use separate eye makeup removers anymore. Even waterproof mascara that normally leaves residue around the lashes comes off cleanly. That alone saves me so much time at night when I’m exhausted and just want my skincare routine done quickly.
Once water is added, the oil transforms into a light milky texture that spreads evenly and rinses away very easily. A lot of cleansing oils claim to rinse clean but still leave behind a greasy film that makes me feel like I need another cleanser immediately afterward. This one actually rinses off properly with water and leaves my skin feeling clean, soft, and balanced instead of heavy or sticky.
Another reason I’ve continued using this for years is because it doesn’t make my skin feel stripped. My skin tends to get dehydrated easily if I use harsh cleansers, especially during colder months, but this leaves my face feeling comfortable and hydrated. The olive oil and vitamin E in the formula definitely help with keeping the skin soft after cleansing. My skin usually feels smoother and calmer afterward instead of tight and irritated.
I also haven’t experienced clogged pores from this, which surprised me because I was originally nervous about putting an oil cleanser on my face. Instead, it actually helps loosen buildup and sunscreen better than many foaming cleansers I’ve tried. My skin texture always looks cleaner and more refreshed after using it consistently.
The bottle also lasts a very long time because you honestly don’t need much product. One pump covers my entire face easily, including eye makeup removal. Even with regular use, the full-size bottle lasts me months, so I feel like the value is actually very good considering how little product is needed each time.
The included travel size is another nice bonus. I keep the mini bottle in my travel bag or purse because it’s convenient for trips and prevents me from having to transfer product into another container. It’s small but still lasts quite a while.
One more thing worth mentioning is the price. I’ve purchased this from different places over the years, and this listing is usually cheaper than buying directly from the official store. Whenever I see it on sale, I stock up because it’s one of those products I genuinely never want to run out of.
Overall, this is one of the most reliable cleansing oils I’ve used. It removes makeup quickly, rinses clean without residue, feels gentle on the skin, and lasts a long time. If you wear makeup regularly, use waterproof products, or simply want a cleansing oil that actually performs the way it promises to, this one is absolutely worth trying.

my holy grail

i’ve been repurchasing this for almost 8 years now. hands down this is a holy grail product for me and i have been recommending it to everyone. it takes my makeup off great and it leaves my skin feeling so smooth and soft. its very lightweight and it is very easy to use. i use this for about 10-20 minutes before i use a water based cleanser to take it off. it got rid of little bumbs i have and i genuinely do feel blackheads and dead skin coming off as i use it. this made my skin do a 180 and i will def be using this until the day i die. i love this and recommend it so much.

Reliable choice

Product I have been purchasing for almost a decade. Excellent at getting out black heads around the nose and mouth. However, if you do not thoroughly double cleanse after, you will be sure to experience a break out. It has a mild scent that doesn’t bother me, typically I get headaches from too strong of a scent. Overall, it’s a gentle way to cleanse and protect your skin health.

Holy grail of cleansing oil!
