The sun is bright and who knows how long we have been hidden from the light. Is this our first time outside or have we merely forgotten how the sun feels? Were we really that lost this whole time? When transitioning from dark into light we are unable to see clearly until our eyes have properly adjusted. Geesman plays the generous host, laying out an enticing welcome mat in the form of the Terry Riley inspired opening track 'Testify'. Synths twinkle, strings conversate, hearts capitulate. In his third LP, we see Evan Geesman both continue and elevate the sound established in his prior releases. Written over the last 2 years in a dilapidated building 10 feet from a train tracks, NEWAGESEWAGE is a story of a love lost and with that a mumbled eulogy for a future never realized. As one song turns into the next, we sense the wistful recollection of a man cherishing a newfound clarity. Through tinges of sadness and sentimentality, this album's precious sound ultimately leaves us feeling more thankful for our lessons, than distraught about our trials. Evan Geesman's heartbroken optimism is infectious. Nothing is lost for we have already found so much. Each moment a sunrise and a sunset. Entertaining, informative, without being overwhelming.

Got it for, basically, half-off standard retail. At that price, it's a fine addition to the WWII library. Some interesting information displayed in a mostly entertaining way. I get that battle maps are always a challenge (maps are static - battles are dynamic). This does a fairly adequate job - better than most battle maps - though far from groundbreaking. item arrived well packed - no issues with binding (as some others seem to report). Though the book overall is a bit "warped" and several of the maps are mis-printed or mis-cut as to make them unusable. 3 bad out of 300 - not horrible - again at the price I paid. If the subject interest you - I'd suggest getting - but not a "must have".

For the history buff or student - this is worth the purchase
Format: Hardcover
Detailed, individual maps and history on the battles of World War II. It isn’t too overwhelming for the student and is an enjoyable read for the history buff. Hardback so it will ensure lots of reading and reviews, durable pages too (not those thin, flimsy, easily tearable pages!) - this book will likely stand the test of our schooling years and beyond.
