The 76mm ZiS-3 divisional gun was the backbone of Soviet field artillery throughout the Great Patriotic War — and arguably one of the finest artillery pieces of the entire conflict. Produced in greater numbers than any other artillery gun in history, the ZiS-3 combined an elegant, lightweight design with exceptional versatility: capable of accurate direct fire against armour and indirect fire as a howitzer, it served the Red Army from the desperate defensive battles of 1941 through to the fall of Berlin in 1945, and continued in service well beyond the Korean War.
On the Bolt Action tabletop, the ZiS-3 is a cost-effective and flexible support option for any Soviet force — equally at home in an artillery support role or as a dedicated anti-tank gun.
