The Protopasta Fil-anthropy Fund is proud to partner with the Whistle Crew, "a loose federation united by our love for 3D printing and community safety."
Across the nation, our communities' lives are threatened by the presence of ICE. The stories of suffering are endless as we watch our people be gassed, tackled, and shot in the streets of their own hometowns. With a desire to keep our people safe, a grassroots campaign has begun to provide whistles wherever and whenever they're needed. Stores quickly sold out of mass-produced whistles, so our communities put their heads together and designed a number of whistles that can be 3d printed.
The message is simple: Together, we keep our community safe.
- Three short blasts alerts the community of the presence of ICE agents.
- Long blasts indicate that ICE has detained someone. Form a crowd, stay loud.
We've answered the call to keep these printers fed, and allow anyone to contribute positively to the campaign. Even if you don't own a 3d printer, you, too, can gift material to maximize our impact. Your $20 purchase secures 1kg of PLA towards the production and distribution of whistles, up to 500 from each spool!

To spread the word in your community, you can distribute this free zine, courtesy of Teresa Magaña of Pilsen Arts Community House in Chicago. Teresa provided the zine in English and Spanish, but you can find additional languages suited for your community here.

Protopasta is a small company comprised of caring people who are environmentally conscious and community-focused. We're a little obsessed with the things that matter to us like quality, creativity, independence, and doing the right thing. We see physical and social well-being as key components to unlocking creativity.
We don't overcommit to mass production for thin margins because we don't want to be consumed by making the same as everyone else, over and over again. We stay creatively limber by making new things every month, and we want to do extend this by identifying causes we can impact with our competency in making unique, cherished filaments. Focusing on a cause, together we can achieve anything!
While goals and results matter, so does the experience getting there. Even through strife, binding together for good can be a positive and uplifting experience where we overcome fear-mongering fascists. Does that make us punks? Hippies? We don't know, but it's what makes us, us.
We do our best work outside corporate constraints, though this uncapped creativity can serve the corporate world as well. If you can beat 'em, work with them, but that shouldn't happen at the sacrifice of your values!

Perfect Laptop for A College Student!!

I received this laptop today and so far, so good! The color (light green) is my favorite color and it looks really nice. I do have to say that switching from s-mode (in this mode you can't download any google services, which I needed. PSA- Once you switch you CANNOT switch back, so be sure you want to!) was frustrating but that's more of a microsoft issue I believe, rather than the seller. I'm giving this 4 stars because i've only used it for a few hours tonight, and while it's been great, only time will tell. But it's 16GB RAM (quick), and has good storage on the pc itself, 128GB. In addition the package comes with a 32GB SD card, AND 256GB external hardrive or whatever. (idk much about tech.) All I know is that this is a great deal!! The battery life also seems to be pretty good. Lasts a while, and charges relatively quick!

BE AWARE AND NEVER BUY THIS LAPTOP!

I purchased this laptop in January, and by March, it was already showing major issues. The performance declined rapidly — it became unbearably slow, frequently crashed, and often struggled to open even basic programs or web pages. Using it has been incredibly frustrating.
Unfortunately, I didn’t dig deep enough into reviews before buying and was misled by overly positive ones. After running into these problems, I did more research and discovered that this model is widely known for poor performance and reliability.
I called HP and they told me that Amazon or 3rd party sellers modify the laptop from the original 4 GB RAM to 16 GB. This laptop is not compatible with 16 GB, and that's why this is a piece of garbage.
HP also informed me that there are many customers who are experiencing the same problem, but because the laptop was modified by a third party, they can’t honor the warranty or provide technical support for the device in its current configuration.
I strongly recommend avoiding this laptop. Take the time to research alternatives (and maybe invest a bit more) to get something reliable. This one simply isn’t worth the frustration.
