The GS-CU001B MkII is a highly versatile commentary unit. It was designed after close consultation with end users and the result is a stand alone unit which offers a wide range of facilities, and it is equally at home on the terraces, as it is in a studio.

The MkII Version
The MkII version now adds the following as standard features:
- 48v phantom power
- upgraded input gain pot
- input gain range increased from -20 to +10 dB
- GPOs on Mic and talkback buttons to allow integration with main intercom or talkback system

VERSION 3 (TT): This version has transformer balanced inputs & outputs with high quality Llundhall transformers on the individual mic outputs.

Inputs
Three front panel inputs are mic/line switchable with selectable 48v phantom power. The front panel also has a small gain adjustment pot. Mic on/off switches can be selected in on/off mode or in cough mode. There is a global low frequency cut that can be selected on or off, and a preset compressor/limiter per input.

Outputs/Talkback
Each input has a direct discrete output on the rear panel along with a mixed output of all of the inputs, all on XLR. The mixed output is also available on an un-balanced 3.5mm jack socket as a local record. The direct output levels can be set in 3 positions:

1: 0dB + limiter: This is the normal operation and it limits peak levels.

2: 0dB: This feeds the output with an un-compressed nominal level of 0dB, for when the peak signal level will be controlled by outboard equipment.

3: -20dB: This feeds the output with a nominal level of -20dB providing extra headroom.

There are 3 common talkback circuits with individual buttons on the two main commentators’ sections (Position B's input cannot be switched to a talkback output). The operation of the talkback buttons features Config+ for configuring in different modes.

Monitoring
There are two main commentator monitoring sections, each with two separate 6.35mm A or B gauge jack sockets for headphones. In this way, the centre position B commentator can choose to share the monitoring of commentator A or C. There are 5 common external sources available for monitoring, plus an additional control which is the sum of the other 2 commentators/inputs. Each of the 6 pots has variable level control and left/both/right switching allowing commentator A and C to achieve their desired mix and balance levels. The sidetone control is located on the rear panel for commentator A and C to adjust the level of their own voice. There is a 7 segment LED PPM meter.

Power
There is an internal switch mode power supply 100-250v AC, with external power via a 4 pin XLR 9-18v DC.

Flight Case
By popular demand a hard wearing strong polypropylene flight case is now available for all of the GS-CU001 range. It features long life hinges, easy to use catches and being made out of hardwearing polypropylene plastic, it will last for years. Internally the case is lined with cut out medium density foam. The multipurpose cut outs can be adapted to accept any of the different size GS-CU001 units. A second small cut out is included suitable for two HMD25 headsets & mains cable.

Modifications
The GS-CU001 is a complete and versatile base system, and Glensound's most popular commentary unit. It is therefore a perfect starting point for custom requirements. This has resulted in many custom modified units, some listed above, and some not. We are always happy to investigate a particular requirement that you may have. To give you an idea of what is possible, these are some of the modifications, we have designed previously for others:
Added GPIO on a 9 pin D-type
Moved the sidetone control to the top panel on a full size pot
Added a talkback channel and monitor between the A and C commentary positions (GS-CU001D and E)
Independent monitoring inputs for commentator A and C (GS-CU001E)
Additional mic passive outputs (GS-CU001E)
Added an additional headphone monitoring input (GS-CU001G)
Added two mic inputs for commentator A and C with a simple toggle switch between them (GS-CU001L)
Other Versions are available:
VERSION 1 (EE): Has electronically balanced audio input & output circuits.

Awesome, portable room divider for larger rooms
Color: Black, Color: Black
I chose this room divider to use in my son's room that also serves as my home office! It is 72" x 72" in size, so it truly blocks out the other side of the room for optimal privacy. Once it's assembled, it's mildly sturdy - as long as you can bet both ends with the "feet" in line with the ground. I wish that the framework poles had more of an interlocking system so that the divider was easier to erect. I assembled this on carpet, so I had some issues getting the divider to stop moving. It takes a lot of work to set up, as it is massive, so definitely have someone help you. I would suggest adding weights of some sort to the feet of this divider to keep it from shifting. I ended up leaning mine against a bookcase shelf so it wouldn't lean. All and all, this is a great product if you are looking to make a room multipurpose.

As described
Color: Black
Light weight, easy to put together and you can disconnect the ends and just roll the whole thing nice and tight for quick out of the way storage. Pretty sturdy, doesn't fall over if you bump into it, you could use it outside but if there's a lot of light you can see through a tiny bit if you're really close but I only tested this indoors so not sure about patio types

Versatile Room Divider With Easy Assembly and Strong Coverage
Size: 3 Panel 12FT W
I picked up this Siebwin 3-panel folding room divider mainly for privacy and room separation, and overall it works very well. Assembly is very straightforward, and the divider can be set up, taken apart, and stored without much effort. The fabric quality feels good, and the frame construction is stronger and more stable than expected. The support tubes especially feel well built and help keep the divider standing securely. One feature I really liked is the flexibility of the design. The panels can be used together as a complete divider or separated depending on the setup and available space. That makes it much more versatile for different room layouts or temporary privacy needs. The coverage is also very good, and the size matches the manufacturer’s description accurately. The fabric blocks light and background visibility well enough to provide solid privacy without feeling overly heavy. The wider feet also help improve stability compared to thinner folding dividers. Another positive detail is that everything arrived complete with no missing parts or damaged pieces, which made assembly much easier and faster. Compared to cheaper privacy screens, this one feels more durable and easier to customize depending on the situation. In terms of value for the money, it feels like a very practical and worthwhile purchase considering the size, flexibility, and build quality. Overall, a versatile and well-built room divider with easy assembly, strong privacy coverage, stable construction, complete included parts, flexible panel configuration, and excellent everyday functionality.

Stable, flexible in deployment configuration, creates true privacy and looks great.
Size: 3 Panel 12FT W
This is the second room divider panel I have installed, and there are several features about this one that I like much better than my older one. The fact that there are no gaps and that the material is thicker means you get more privacy or more hiding power, if you wish. My older divider has vertical spaces between each of the panels and the panels are half as wide as the Siebwin panels, so there are many vertical spaces. The Siebwin divider really creates privacy. Another feature that I really appreciate is that the legs are wider and stand off from the floor. On my older one the legs are flat and they're rather awkward to adjust because they create more drag on the floor. The feet on the older one also loosen if you turn them counter clockwise, so adjustments of configuration that require the feet to be moved are more complex. The older divider also must be deployed in a zig-zag fashion because he feet are not as wide, but this new one can be deployed and stable in a straight, an "N" shape or an arc. They are both the same length, but because the older one must be use in a zig-zag deployment it doesn't reach to the length of the new one. The Siebwin divider definitely costs more at $103.48, but it sports several features and advantages over the other brand, so it does a better job and is worth the extra cost.
