Overview
The AVG NRI-PRV-15C 15mm 1/2" Non-Return Isolation & Pressure Reducing Combo Valve combines 2 valves in one as a compact unit to save cost/installation time and eliminates a potential leaking point. This AVG NRI-PRV-15C combo valve is commonly supplied as part of AVG Quickie kits and many solar hot water installation kits, making the NRI-PRV-15C a popular direct swap item during the pressure valve train servicing without changing the plumbing layouts.
The AVG NRI-PRV-15C combo valve is directional marked by the arrow on the valve body. The blue handle is part of the non-return isolation duo valve assembly and can turn the water supply on/off. The brass barrel houses the adjustable spring, which can be turned with a screw driver and allows pressure adjustments between 250-650kPa with a factory preset at 500kPa. Therefore, it is best to have this brass barrel facing up (the blue handle facing down) during installation to allow easy access to adjustment screw, despite all AVG marketing materials/photos show the valve upside down.
The AVG NRI-PRV-15C combo valve is Watermark approved and features 15mm 1/2" copper olive compression fitting ends for direct copper pipe connection or used as a male thread with the cone nuts removed. A pair of insulation jacket is included to minimize the heat loss.
Please note, this the newer and updated version of AVG NRI-PRV-15C combo and it no longer has a 6mm pressure test point to insert a pressure gauge. This new unit superseded the old version in 2022. A photo of the old version AVG Combo valve is shown at the end of the photo gallery for the reference.
