'Embroidering History' provides a glimpse inside the inner workings of an early humanitarian aid project through the lively letters of a middle class English woman who steps out of her depth into rural village life in post-war Poland of 1925.

She leaves teaching to volunteer with a Quaker project providing income generating work for refugee peasant women.

Along the way she encounters recalcitrant Belarusian peasants, manipulative local government officials, excitable bourgeois Poles, and altruistic American Quakers. And few of them really meet her British expectations.

A carefully researched introduction places the project in the wider context of humanitarian aid provision in the aftermath of WWI, and explores how the different motives and expectations of the people involved shape the projects.

Embroidering History brings typed letters from the 1920s into the e-reader of the 21st century, bridging time and technology to make history accessible and relevant to history buffs and modern aid workers alike.

Freaking Amazing 🤩
I never write reviews but these pillow cases absolutely deserve one!!! These are absolutely amazing! So soft and cool! I sweat so bad every night!! I wake up and my hair, shirt and pillow are drenched!!! I slipped these bad boys on as soon as they came in, and let me tell you! They were cold to the touch, I woke up this morning and I wasn’t sweating! I thought $20 something dollars was a little expensive for 2 pillow cases but was totally worth it! We love love love them!🩷🩷🩷Hubby approved😉

Stretchy Material and Cooling Fabric
Color: Light Gray, Size: Standard, Color: Light Gray, Size: Standard
Material: is very stretchy and cools well. It has a zipper which is good because the fabric is very soft and slippery and if it didn’t have a zipper the pillow would not stay in the case. Durability: zipper works great and material is easy to clean. Color: I have the gray and my daughter has the pink. Both colors as advertised. Value: Good value and I got what I expected.

Very soft and cool.
Color: Dark Gray, Size: Queen
Very comfortable and cooling. But after a couple of washes the stitching starts to unravel.
