Toy Tonics label heads Mathias Munk Modica and Kapote present Teutonik Disaster, a very special compilation with eight edits and reworks of rare German new wave funk and disco punk from 1979 to 1983. There have been millions of typical disco edits in the last years. But there is so much more interesting music from the late 1970s and early '80s yet to bubble it's way to the surface. One of those lesser explored fields is the crazy funky side of Germany's underground disco and new wave from that period. At the time, many German bands were trying to make their own version of English and American styles. After Kraftwerk and Can had started to use the German language in a cool, new way, many bands that followed in their steps experimented with German new wave. Most of these bands didn't reach a bigger audience. Their records never got pressed to more than 300-500 copies as they were a number of years ahead of the huge commercial explosion of German pop in 1984: The NDW, aka "Neue Deutsche Welle", with Nena's humongous hit "99 Red Balloons". The bands featured on the compilation released their music before the NDW hype and later broke up. Plenty of these early bands are best forgotten, but if you dig deeper you'll find the gems, bursting with style and attitude. And that's just what Toy Tonics heads Mathias Munk Modica and Kapote did. They hit gold. Most of these tracks have already been released on the original Teutonik Disaster compilation in 2003 on Gomma Records. Gomma was the label that Mathias Munk Modica started before Toy Tonics 15 years ago, where he released records with James Murphy, WhoMadeWho, Asia Argento, etc. Gomma is not active anymore, but it felt like the right time to re-release this compilation in 2019. Munk and Toy Tonics partner Kapote made new versions of these rare songs, adding drum machines and extended them. The result is unbelievable music, heavy funk basslines, soulful vibes, cool vocals that you would be hard pressed to expect from Germans, and a vibe that slots in perfectly in 2019's post-techno and post-deep house scenario. Seems durable - but the scent is not the best

I don't know if I'd call the scent of this "bacon," more like rubber with a hint of bacon. It's very strong. I gave my dog one of the balls & put one in a cabinet where I keep his treats & a few other unrelated odds & ends. I now hold my breath when I open that cabinet b/c good lord, the smell. I'm tempted to just give that one to the dog too, just because it'll air out eventually & then everything else in that cabinet won't smell bad.
My dog feels so-so about it. He'll briefly chase after it & chew on it, but loses interest in it pretty fast. My rather hyperactive cat also plays with it from time to time, as he seems to have more interest in most dog toys than the dog these days, so there's that. (Then again, he thinks a wide variety of random items around the house are loads of fun to toss about, so it's possible his opinion is to be taken with a grain of salt. Between the brief periods of one of these balls being chewed on & clawed at, it's stayed completely intact. I think if you have a dog who simply likes to play fetch or chew on rubber balls in general, this one would stand up to the task. But if you're expecting it to be greeted with the enthusiasm as a bacon grease covered ball might be - I'd adjust your expectations.

My dogs favorite toy so far in two years

I use this with my medium sized dog. These are large for him but that's what I want so I don't ever have to think about them being too small or a swallow hazard. He has been through A LOT OF TOYS in the last couple years, but nothing, NOTHING has he loved as much as these.
His favorite used to be squeaker balls. Then his favorite was crackle balls. But he will gladly ignore both for this one. I don't know if it's the bacon flavor or what, but he go nuts for it.

What is there to say? they're giant 4" rubber balls from the Chew King brand which is very durable brand. The best part is they don't roll under couches, side boards, etc cause they're just big enough.

Tough Dog Balls. Bright Orange/holes for treats

I used to buy Starmark. But their balls got smaller and tore more easily. The color was green. I couldn’t find it when it was dropped in the grass!! Soooooo, I took a chance on this cuz it had holes in it and was bright orange. It is not scented at all or its bacon scent faded. The ball is for strong chewers. I’m a petsitter and I needed tough balls for my clients dog. Shipped quickly. Good price. Exactly as described
