The Zipp 303 Firecrest is a 700C carbon clincher wheelset designed primarily for road and gravel riding, featuring a 45mm deep Firecrest rim profile with an internal width of 26.4mm at the brake track tapering to 28.5mm below. It employs Sapim CX-Sprint straight-pull spokes in a 24/24 count lacing pattern and is built around Zipp’s 77/177 hubs with improved flange design for increased lateral stiffness. The rear hub supports Shimano/SRAM 10-11 speed freehub bodies and can accommodate SRAM XD cassette bodies for wider gear ranges. It uses Quick Release skewers and is intended for rim brake setups with carbon-compatible brake tracks. The rim is not tubeless-ready and features a hooked bead design. This wheelset balances aerodynamic efficiency, crosswind stability, and climbing responsiveness, suited for performance-oriented riders seeking a mid-depth aerodynamic wheel with reliable stiffness and ride quality.
