Moment Countach 98 Skis

The Moment Countach 98 is a directional, high-performance all-mountain ski built for speed, stability, and precision—designed to charge hard on groomers and through variable snow while maintaining the smooth, powerful feel the Countach series is known for.

Why It Works

  • Directional Charger Design: Long effective edge and supportive tail deliver confidence when driving the ski at speed.
  • 98mm Waist: Narrow enough for quick edge-to-edge response on firm snow, wide enough to handle mixed and chopped conditions.
  • Subtle Rocker Profile: Rocker in the tip for smooth initiation and versatility, paired with camber underfoot for strong grip.
  • Dual Radius Sidecut: Stable at speed with a predictable, powerful turn shape.
  • Metal-Free Power: Built to feel damp and composed without relying on metal laminates.

Ideal For

Advanced to expert skiers who want a fast, directional daily driver that thrives on groomers, steeps, and variable resort snow—especially for skiers who like to ski forward and push their speed.

Specifications

  • Category: All-Mountain / Directional Charger
  • Dimensions (Tip–Waist–Tail): 130–98–119 mm
  • Available Lengths: 170 cm, 176 cm, 182 cm, 188 cm
  • Turning Radius: 18 m (170) / 19 m (176) / 20 m (182) / 21 m (188)
  • Mount Point: -8 cm
  • Construction: Sandwich construction

How It Compares

Compared to the Deathwish 96, the Countach 98 is more directional and speed-focused. It sacrifices some looseness for added stability, edge length, and confidence when charging hard.

Bottom Line: A fast, precise, directional all-mountain ski built for skiers who want maximum confidence at speed without going full metal-laminate.

Pick your length and let it run—this ski rewards commitment.

Another fine Benchmark Atlas.
Format: Spiral-bound
We travel a lot and own 6 benchmark atlases now. They're the finest on the market and include camping and fishing information and show the forest service and other backroads. What's special about the British Columbia atlas is that it is spiral bound. I just replaced my Oregon atlas after 20 years because the cover had ripped up and torn off and the pages were falling out. I hope they will all be spiral bound from now on.

Format: Spiral-bound
I love these maps and own quite a few. Easy to use, big picture or more detailed sections. Very useful despite google maps.

Another good Benchmark Atlas
Format: Spiral-bound
We camp frequently and own all of the Benchmark Atlases. Although, this is different due to Canadian laws, we are excited to try it out! Very detailed with information, such as small campgrounds and identifying land ownership (Forest services or BLM)

Memories of the Camino
Format: Paperback
First off, I have to say that my husband and I know Angela, the author. We met her because she is a neighbor of my sister, living in Hawaii. We discovered that she planned to walk the Camino de Santiago de Compostela the same year we were (2016) ! On a visit to Hawaii, we met with Angela and did a little local hike together. She was so enthusiastic and had prepared well. We, too, had been reading up and watching videos, getting suggestions as to what to bring, how to deal with physical issues and weather, what to pack and what not to pack, etc. Still, for anyone doing the Camino - whether the WHOLE 500 miles or doing the required 100 km to get the certificate at the final destination: Santiago de Compostela, Spain - it is a very personal endeavor. Reading Angela Leslee's book gives you the personal story of her "camino," and it is captivating. The changes that take place in her life - the discoveries she makes, the people she meets, the failures she feels, the fears, the habits that get broken (such as food choices!) - all make for an adventure that is life-changing and an interesting read. For anyone considering this pilgrimage, because that's what it is, this book will inspire you. You don't need to be part of a "group." You don't need a lot of plans. You do need to be prepared to be changed. The memory for myself and my husband is that it is the best shared experience we have had together in our 50 years of marriage! Angela's book brought back so many wonderful memories for us. I highly recommend this book.
