400W Solar Kit for Workshops and Sheds with 3000W Inverter and 3.8kWh Storage

Turn your workshop or shed into a fully powered, grid independent workspace with this 400W Complete Solar Kit for workshops and sheds. Four high efficiency 100W N Type solar panels feed a 3.8kWh battery bank and a 3000W pure sine wave inverter, giving you clean AC power for lights, chargers, compressors, saws and other DIY tools without running extension cords from the house or listening to a generator all day.

Built around a 40A MPPT charge controller with advanced battery charging and full system protection, the kit is laid out for straightforward DIY installation so you can go from bare shed to powered shop in one go.

Solar Power Designed Around Real DIY Workloads

The 400W N Type array uses 16 bus bar, 100W panels with up to 25 percent cell efficiency, so they make the most of limited roof space on a shed or workshop. In good sun they keep your batteries topped up for typical shop loads: lights, chargers, small power tools, fans and task lighting.

A 3000W 12V pure sine wave inverter turns stored DC into grid like AC power, so sensitive tools and electronics run smoothly. That means everything from cordless tool chargers and laptops to small saws and shop vacs can plug into the system like a normal outlet, within the inverter’s rating.

Smarter Charging with 40A MPPT

At the heart of the charging side is a 40A MPPT solar charge controller using Renogy’s Maximum Power Point Tracking technology. With up to 99 percent tracking efficiency and peak conversion efficiency around 98 percent, it constantly adjusts to squeeze the most power from the panels, even when conditions change through the day.

That matters in cloudy or mixed weather where the maximum power point is moving. The 4 stage charging algorithm (bulk, boost, float, equalization where applicable) is tuned to extend battery lifespan by avoiding chronic undercharging or overcharging, which is especially important for a workshop setup that might see irregular use.

The controller auto detects 12V or 24V systems, accepts 15 to 100V DC solar input, and supports up to 520W on 12V or 1040W on 24V, leaving room to expand beyond the included 400W if you decide to grow the system later. It is protected against overcharge, over discharge, overload and short circuit, and can even recover some over discharged lithium batteries when configured correctly.

Two Battery Options: AGM or Pro Series LiFePO4

You can choose the storage that best fits how you use your workspace:

  • Three 12V 100Ah Deep Cycle AGM Batteries
A familiar, robust option if you want a simple, maintenance free lead acid setup. Each 100Ah AGM battery is rated for about 500 cycles at 50 percent depth of discharge, with a 10 hour capacity spec and a recommended charge voltage of 14.4 to 14.8V, float at 13.6 to 13.8V. They can be wired in series or parallel (up to 4 in parallel), and each weighs about 63.9 lb. This is ideal when weight is not critical and you want a straightforward, proven bank.
  • Three 12V 100Ah Pro Series LiFePO4 Batteries
For lighter weight and longer life, the Core Series lithium iron phosphate option brings a big upgrade. Each 12V 100Ah battery can deliver up to 5000 cycles at 80 percent depth of discharge, with a working voltage range from 10 to 14.8V, 100A max charge and discharge current, and 245A peak discharge for 30 seconds to start heavier loads. Housing is IP67 rated with UL94 V0 flame retardancy, and each unit weighs only about 26.9 lb. These batteries support parallel expansion up to eight units and include Bluetooth for app based monitoring.

Whichever you choose, three 100Ah batteries give you around 3.8kWh of nominal storage, enough to run typical workshop loads for a full working session when combined with daily solar production.

Built In Monitoring and Protection

The kit includes a 500A battery monitor with shunt, so you can see state of charge, current draw and consumption in real time instead of guessing from voltage alone. That makes it much easier to understand how your tools and lighting are impacting the bank and to avoid running batteries too low.

Fusing and cabling are correctly matched for a 3000W system:

  • 40A ANL fuse set and 20A waterproof in line solar fuse holder for clean overcurrent protection
  • 4AWG copper battery interconnect cables for linking batteries
  • 8AWG ANL fuse cable and 10AWG tray cables and adaptor kit for controller and array runs
  • Heavy battery to inverter cables for the 3000W inverter connection

These pieces give you defined protection points and reduce the risk of undersized wiring in a high draw workshop environment.

What Comes in the 400W Workshop / Shed Solar Kit

Every major component you need for a typical shed or workshop system is included:

  • 4 × 100W 16BB N Type Solar Panels
  • 1 × 40A MPPT Solar Charge Controller
  • 3 × 12V 100Ah Deep Cycle AGM Batteries or 3 × 12V 100Ah Pro Series Deep Cycle Lithium Batteries
  • 1 × 3000W 12V Pure Sine Wave Inverter
  • 1 × Set of Solar Panel Mounting Z Brackets
  • 3 × Solar Y Branch Connectors (MMF + FFM pairs)
  • 1 × 20 ft 10AWG Solar Panel to Charge Controller Adaptor Kit
  • 1 × 8 ft 10AWG Battery to Charge Controller Tray Cables
  • 4 × 16 in 4AWG Copper Battery Interconnect Cables (5/16 in lugs)
  • 1 × 1 ft 8AWG ANL Fuse Cable with Double Ring Terminals (3/8 in lugs)

Product leaks into the cap
Size: 3.4 Fl Oz (Pack of 1), Size: 3.4 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
The packaging appears to be defective and potentially tampered with. Specifically, the nozzle is a different color from the rest of the tube—one that is not consistent with the brand’s standard packaging (I am familiar with this brand and have purchased it before). Additionally, the cap does not close properly, causing the product to leak into the lid and resulting in unnecessary waste. This raises serious concerns about the product’s authenticity, quality control, and whether it may have been previously opened or altered.

Tried + tested on Caribbean vacation
Size: 6 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
First let me start by saying I have an inflammatory condition so I needed a sunscreen that didn’t contribute to making my symptoms worse like many of the other sunscreens with harsh chemicals. This sunscreen is phenomenal! We just got back from a week in the Caribbean sun in Antigua/Barbuda, and I did not burn once! But there are some key things you must know before buying so that you can apply it properly and get the best protection. First, you must shake the can for about 20 seconds before each use. This way it mixes the sunscreen and applies it correctly. If you spray it and it comes out clear you have not shaken it up enough. It should spray solid white. Second, rub it in quickly after you spray it because it dries fast. Note that this does leave a white cast, but it’s not as bad as everyone says. I have light olive skin (half Hispanic, half white) and I tan easily but I also burn easily. When I applied it, it went on white but I just took the time and rub it in really well. The white cast will fade a little once it dries but it will also sit on top of the skin which is helpful to know when you need to re-apply. I applied in the morning about 20 min before getting in the sun. *Apply before putting on your swim suit! If it gets on your swimwear, it will leave white marks*. The sunscreen stayed on through pool and ocean use without rubbing off. I only needed to reapply on the tops of my shoulders once in the afternoon. Also, this is not to say that you won’t burn. While I was in the intense sun, I also spent time in the shade throughout the day just to make sure I was giving my skin breaks from the heat. But for being in the sun like I was, I am VERY impressed with this sunscreen. And for it only being spf 30, it protected me better than expected in the harsh Caribbean sun. I usually come home from vacations with a little burn but absolutely none this time! Just be sure to take time to apply it correctly and you should be good! I’d rather have a slight, minimal white cast than be burnt and miserable. It’s worth it! I’ll be using this stuff from now on.

I am super white and have great skin which is super surprising ...
I just started using this product and I wanted to write because I thought some of the reviews were mixed when I read them. I used to use Zinka's spray but they changed their formula and now it is a greasy mess, that never dries do not buy that, I wrote the company and they do not care. First and foremost this bottle is heavy so I am not sure if the shaker ball is heavy or what but a 6oz bottle should not be this heavy so that might be a marketing ploy, hope I don't run out and just have a shaker ball. I am super white and have great skin which is super surprising as my childcare was being dumped off at the local pool in TX without sunscreen during the summers, but I attribute that to using a zinc based sunscreen for the past 10-15 years. I use this everyday, rain or shine as I live in TX and it never rains long and winter here has sunshine too. I use it on my face, hands and decolletage. Yes, my face, under my make up or not. Here are the issues, this makes a super white paste that does not fade into the skin if you go too heavy. So you have to rub it in and even then there is a whiteness, and I am already a white gal. I too am longing for a day of clear zinc sunscreen. But none on the market I have found that are not an oily mess that cause breakouts. I like the dry texture of this spray, and if I spray a thin layer I do not need to rub, so that is perfect for me on my face as most make up I put over it has spf protection anyways, so no problem there, and this stuff stays on 12 hours or more. I think the cost is high, I used to pay around $10 a bottle for zinka but it was not as heavy as this so I will see how long this lasts. But so far except for the cost and the having to rub it in I really like this product.

My favorite sunscreen
Size: 6 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I love this sunscreen and have been carrying a can in my bag all this summer. To address a couple of common complaints: “It’s not sheer at all”: “Sheer” does not mean the same thing as “clear,” people. This spray is white and absolutely does rub in to be sheer as advertised. It leaves a slight (“sheer”) white tinge after rubbing in, but it’s not super noticeable on my pale skin. It might be more problematic on darker skin tones. (Also, it should be noted that there is literally no such thing as clear mineral sunscreen- you will have to choose between a product like this and a clear one containing endocrine disruptors. I’d rather look a little pasty, personally.) “My whole family used this and got burned”: You need to shake the can before spraying, as per the instructions. These sprays are made of zinc (the active, protective ingredient) in a liquid suspension. If you spray without shaking the can first, you risk getting all liquid and no zinc particles, and then yes, you will burn. I’m pretty sensitive and this sunscreen has not failed me yet. “It’s hard to get off”: This is true. It is hard to get off. But why would you want a sunscreen to come off easily?? This stuff is water resistant to an impressive degree. In the evening if it takes a vigorous scrubbing to get it off, I consider the exfoliation a bonus. Also, my nozzles have worked just fine and the cans last me quite a good amount of time.
