The election's consequences drastically changed how Americans experience their country, especially for those threatened by the public outburst of bigotry and repression. Amid the deluge of tweets and breaking news stories that turn each day into a political soap opera, it can be difficult to take a step back and see the big picture. To confront the threats we face, we must recognize that the Trump presidency is a symptom, not the malady. Antidemocracy in America is a collective effort to understand how we got to this point and what can be done about it. Assembled by the sociologist Eric Klinenberg as well as the editors of the online magazine Public Books, Caitlin Zaloom and Sharon Marcus, it offers essays from many of the nation's leading scholars, experts on topics including race, religion, gender, civil liberties, protest, inequality, immigration, climate change, national security, and the role of the media. Antidemocracy in America places our present in international and historical context, considering the worldwide turn toward authoritarianism and its varied precursors. Comfortable casual shorts for summer wear.

The twill chino style looks a little nicer than basic athletic shorts, and the drawstring waist keeps them easy to wear.

Slightly shiny material with a non neutral khaki color

I ordered these for my husband as nice looking shorts that would be casual and comfy. The Large fit his 35" waist ok, a slightly baggy around the crotch. The material is lightweight and they are decent quality for the price. We were both not a fan of the slightly shiny sheen of the material and the khaki color is not a neutral khaki, it is more peach or coral undertoned. He was wearing a garment washed coral pink tone T-shirt when he tried these on and it clashed horribly. Might have looked better with a black or dark shirt but just not an easy khaki that goes with everything unfortunately. Because of the sheen and color he probably won't wear them and we will just donate.

Order larger than they suggest.
Size: XX-Large, Color: Black
Do not listen to size suggestions. These are sized in China. Everything runs much smaller than what they are claiming. Amazons suggestions do not take this into account. They also don't feel like twill, maybe some kind of nylon woven like twill? Not sure.
