Oxford Bedford RL military truck is deployed on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus under the auspices of 58 Company,  Royal Army Service Corps.

The Bedford RL is decorated in a desert scheme of light stone with the canvas cover moulded in a slightly darker beige while the interior is light green with black steering wheel. A roof hatch has also been added to this release. Registered 43 CL 72, the vehicle has a yellow bridge plate on the front with the number 9 printed on it – a military indication to control the weight when crossing bridges and the like, hence the name.  The 58th Company formation badge is printed in blue and yellow on both the front and the back of the truck and the blue/yellow shield with two lions on the front identifies it as being deployed in Cyprus.

Bedford built the RL from the mid 1950s to the early 1970s. Like many Bedford vehicles, its main use was with the British military. Bedford based the RL on the civilian Bedford S truck, so it was used in a civilian capacity too. With a split windscreen and the signature Bedford radiator grille, the truck had all-wheel drive and bigger wheels for optimum ground clearance. Originally a 3-tonner, it was increased to 4 tons to facilitate its cross country payload requirements.  During its lifetime, over 74,000 rolled off the production line and many of these survived in civilian use well into the 1990s

Little Small On The Wrist
Really cool timepiece, been loving timex a lot recently, this is me coming over Casio/G-shocks. Although it is a bit smaller on the wrist it still looks very nice and I really love the gray and like green color contrast. Really easy to read the time as well.

Sturdy and digital
This watch has “ fake screws” holding the band on . The band is actually held on by the usual pins holding it on most watches but weaker . The pin came off while I was putting it on for the first time! This is the second time I bought off Amazon in 2 weeks where the watch appeared to be sturdy and the pins fell off . Going back to military watches that have material straps that go completely around wrist and do not have pressure on pins

Favorite watch / solar
Color: Green/Green
I'm partial... I have bought Timex my intire life, they no doubt make the best watches... They take a licking, but keep on ticking is there old commercials.. True.. Great quality, keeps going after many year's... I never bought a solar watch from them prior I have to mention... It should hold up I'm thinking like their battery watches, I hope so. My favorite watch, I own a handful. Watch looks better in person... Downfall, they are trying a new band out of recycled plastic, I don't like it as much as the older bands it's soft, but feels a little strange...

Solar powered
Color: Green/Green
Great watch for us older folks. The hands are large enough to see easily and the fact it is solar powered means batteries do not have to be replaced every year or two.
