Care

General Maintenance: To encourage bright yellow stems, annually prune to remove one-third of oldest stems, leaving strong young whips.
Light: Full sun, Partial sun
Watering: Water deeply and regularly during the first growing season to establish an extensive root system. Once established, reduce frequency. Adaptable; can tolerate both dry conditions and some standing water.
Soil: Prefers enriched, moist, well-drained soils but tolerates clay, sand and wet locations when established.
Fertilizer: Feed in early spring with an all purpose fertilizer prior to the new growth.
