Step aboard for an unforgettable mystery tour where every bend in the road uncovers a moment in Canada’s living history. We’ll wind our way through mountains and along rivers and hear remarkable tales. From the medicinal marvels along tranquil waters to the thundering might – a world renown sight, you’ll trace how people, culture, and waterways have woven the past into our vibrant present. We’ll travel through valleys, fields, and even a subtle chain of mountains—each stop revealing another clue in our shared Canadian story. Our tour is laced with nature, culture and local flavours.

Day 1   Our journey begins where belief and biology once met—a place where tonics, tinctures, and time collide. We’ll peer into a medical mystery of the past: snake oil or cure? The line was fine, the bottles plentiful, and the stories worth hearing. We’ll continue through rolling valleys and fertile fields toward a cabin in the woods where the alchemy of maple unfolds. As the day winds down, we arrive at a beautifully restored hotel, once a vital cog in industry. Its grand halls now whisper of machinery, markets, and the movement of goods along the waterways that built our nation. Easily sum up our day of elixirs of early enterprise. (D)

Day 2   We start the morning with a perfect pearing, but we really can’t say more. Next, we wander to a farm market, brimming with handcrafted goods and local fare. Here, the countryside cuisine takes center stage: simple, proud, and deeply rooted in the land. This afternoon, indulge your inner child with a joyful adventure in the crisp autumn air. Then, as twilight glows, we’ll be schooled for our unique onboard history lesson, where stories of transportation, trade, and transformation carry us into the evening. Tonight, rest well—the threads of history have only begun to weave.  (B, D)

Day 3   I’m no green thumb but pretty pumped about letting you see this uber big plant. Next up, a jolt of inspiration, a testament to human ingenuity and the forces that literally shaped the modern world – powerful stuff eh! Our midday “lunch date” takes us to a place where time flows differently—respectfully, spiritually, and powerfully. You won’t find this experience on any ordinary calendar. From there, we choo choose a behind-the-scenes, exclusive visit where we explore how steel and steam connected communities and commerce across the country. It’s a “we weren’t sure if we COULD, but we did” moment of discovery! As dusk descends, we cross to a small, intimate island—a serene escape wrapped in stories of service and sanctuary. Our evening meal is a “no-nunsense” affair, served in a quiet dining hall, where faith and fortitude once flourished. (B, L, D)

Day 4 You might say this leisurely day flows nicely. Learn about the currents of change and see how landscape and communities are claimed by progress. Uncover the mystery beneath the surface and listen to the echoes of homes, churches, and memories—a poignant reminder of the price of modernization. We wrap up our mystery tour with a lunch by the river —where no membership is required, just a taste for fine food and flowing conversation. Here, where waters converge and time seems to stand still, we’ll reflect on the mysteries uncovered and the moments that make us who we are. (B, L)

All Gotchas, Gimmicks, and Grief
My husband broke the item in question, which was a Chemex coffee maker made of nothing but glass. It shattered full of coffee, so like a normal human he cleaned up the dangerous mess and threw it away. I put in a claim, and it said that I had to ship back the product. Believing that the Asurion process was as simple as stated, and reading the agreement that does mention that sometimes they'll require shipment of the item, but that they will review cases and use reasonable judgment, I contacted their chat, explaining that the requirement that I mail them a wet pile of shards of glass soaked in coffee (and a little bit of blood) was unsafe and unreasonable. I don't even know how I could do that in a way that would be safe for the people opening the packaging, or even to take it to the store. The shards of glass might puncture any plastic, and the wetness would soak through, plus there's the biohazard issue. Seems silly for a $47 product replacement to me. I figured any human would understand. First chat associate closed my case without even responding to me. I had to reopen it. The second one told me, "Yes, that is how your warranty works" as an answer to my "Hello, the last chat closed without me talking to anyone." I tried to explain the situation, and was told "If you call the hotline, maybe they'll help you." I call the hotline. The first person tells me tough, I have to mail it. I say it was thrown away. He says "AHA then it's lost! Your warranty doesn't cover lost things!" I say no, it's not lost, it was disposed of properly as shards of glass should be. I finally ask can I speak to someone else or a supervisor. He lies and says yes. I sit on hold for 20 minutes, never any wait time or any sort of indicator of when someone will talk to me. The phone call quality finally gets very horribly staticky, so I hang up and try again. Hallelujah, I get a decent human being who immediately says, "Oh, no, that's not reasonable! That is an unsafe thing to have to mail. I'll send it to the override department who should approve this because it's obvious that's not a normal thing to expect." Today I get an email that says: We can't approve your claim. We reviewed your NO SUPPORTING MANUFACTURER COFFEE MAKER claim. The product in your claim is not covered by your plan. As a result, we're unable to approve your claim. Nothing about the requirement to mail a biohazard, just the item isn't covered even though the item is absolutely covered. While I understand that loss prevention is important, this is a very small potatoes return and it isn't like I made this up. It would be easy to make me happy. I'm sure it has cost them more money to deny it than they would have lost covering the Chemex. I've bought multiple of their product replacement policies before. I never will again. They didn't offer for me to send a picture or anything. They just wasted hours of my time and sent a clearly AI-based answer, rather than treating me like a valuable customer.
