Al naso offre un bouquet ampio e unico, con sentori di vaniglia, albicocca in confettura, spezie dolci, frutta esotica e miele di acacia, arricchiti da eleganti note minerali e leggermente fumé. Al palato si mostra morbido, caldo e strutturato, di grande eleganza, ricchezza e complessità gustativa, il tutto sostenuto da una vibrante e tipica acidità che ravviva e rende il sorso lungo e piacevolissimo.Un punto fermo della Maison Anselmet, lo Chardonnay élevé en fût de chêne, si caratterizza per la magnifica espressione del varietale e del terroir, ulteriormente valorizzata dal passaggio in barriques. Le uve sono coltivate nei comuni di Saint Pierre e di Villeneuve, da vigneti piantati nel 1989, dal suolo morenico-sabbioso a circa 800-900 metri sul livello del mare. Per questo originale bianco targato Valle d’Aosta DOC, Anselmet opta per una vinificazione totalmente in barriques francesi, con fermentazione di 25 giorni e affinamento di 6-9 mesi, utilizzando un 30% di barriques nuove.
Si abbina con primi piatti saporiti, secondi piatti a base di carne bianca, formaggi di media stagionatura e antipasti di terra. Da provare con gnocchi alla bava, vitello tonnato, scaloppine alla valdostana, verdura gratinata alla fontina.

Gou has done it again.

I like the original text, I love the adaptation because it doesn't stray too far from it. The illustration is beautiful and sometimes gross (In a good way, I mean it's a cosmic horror about people turning into fish, maybe don't read it right before a meal or before bed.)
Gou Tanabe has been working through many of H.P Lovecraft's more popular or interesting stories and this one is just about as good as the rest. The translation as always is very good throughout with only one or two "Wait, what?" moments which could have come from reading the original text differently.
I definitely recommend this book and several of others from Gou Tanabe if you love cosmic horror, manga, or H.P Lovecraft.

An Eldritch Tale Deserving the Manga Treatment

One of Lovecraft's very best (and my personal favourite of his macabre tales), rendered in grotesque mana style. While it doesn't eclipse its inspiration, I thoroughly enjoyed this unique take on a classic tale.
