Abel TR Fly Reel - DeYoung Brook Flank - 2/3 WT with Walnut HandleThe Abel TR brings back a true classic, the click pawl trout reel, rebuilt with a striking modern design and the kind of detail only Abel puts into a reel. The partial porting of the frame draws straight from the Abel lineage, and the features are as inventive as anything the company has ever built. For us, this one is personal: every TR is machined right here in Montrose, the same town as our shop, by Abel's own crew of trout junkies. This particular

The Abel TR brings back a true classic, the click-pawl trout reel, rebuilt with a striking modern design and the kind of detail only Abel puts into a reel. The partial porting of the frame draws straight from the Abel lineage, and the features are as inventive as anything the company has ever built. For us, this one is personal: every TR is machined right here in Montrose, the same town as our shop, by Abel's own crew of trout junkies.

This particular TR wears Derek DeYoung's Brook Flank finish, a brook trout pattern that wraps the frame in the colors of the fish you are chasing. Paired with a warm walnut handle, it is as much a piece of art as it is a fishing tool.

At the heart is a precision-balanced, dual-pawl clicker integrated into the spool, which does away with a counterweight for a clean look while keeping that iconic click-pawl sound. The mechanical incoming click complements the smooth, audible feel of the outgoing drag, and the carbon and stainless multi-disk system delivers substantial resistance with enough fine adjustment to protect delicate tippet.

A large-arbor spool cuts line memory and speeds up your retrieve, while the pronounced palming rim lets you feather drag pressure by hand in any condition. The partially ported frame strikes the balance of weight, sound, and looks Abel is known for, with milled silhouettes of a stonefly, caddis, and mayfly hidden inside. Just 21 meticulously machined parts, a quick-change threaded spool, and machined stainless accents on the frame and spool round out a reel built to fish for a lifetime.

Built in the USA, made in our backyard. Stop by the shop in Montrose to hold a piece of hometown craftsmanship, or order online and we will get it on its way.

Looks nice, good construction and good value
Color: Warm Gold
Looks nice, good construction and good value. Stays in place when tearing off sections of paper towels and looks more expensive than it was.

Bridging the Testaments
Format: Hardcover
Very scholarly and detailed if you want to know about the in depth history during this time period. Author is very knowledgeable & has done great research to present. He is very thorough! A lot of info. Helps you to truly comprehend all the various dynasties & kings & how they affected the Jews. Great resource book! I study Jewish history and am giving a sermon on the silent years. This helped me to understand this time period and how the various groups such as Sadducee's, Pharisees, Zealots, Hasidic, Essenes, publicans, etc began. That’s what I was searching for… when & how did these groups develop and splinter off? This book has answered these questions for me. Author writes so well & is organized in time periods! Great book!!

What a Reading Experience!
Format: Kindle
If your goal is to better grasp reading the New Testament, this book is the one for you! For me, it changed everything in my understanding of these Jewish groups that suddenly "appear" in Matthew when you turn the page from Malachi. Who were the Saducees? The Pharisees? Where did they come from? The Davidic loyalists? The Herodians? The Essenes? It was brilliantly documented with great charts tying history to specific scripture. It also sheds meaningful light also on the ongoing political intrigue of the middle east. Loved this book and highly recommend it.

Interesting coverage.
Format: Hardcover
Interesting recount of the history of Israel itself, and it’s relation to its neighbors during the period between the years covered by the Old and New Testaments.
