While I've made many variations on this design as large freestanding pieces, this is the first smaller version designed for hanging anywhere. These globe shaped bird feeders are a design I've wanted to make for a long time. While I've made many variations on this design as large freestanding pieces, this is the first smaller version designed for hanging anywhere. In order to get the concept down I made five of these pieces, and the photos represent a sampling of them all. No two will be exactly the same.These feeders are made from hand bent and welded 18 gauge steel and laced with copper strips. The globe measures about 12" in diameter, while the feeder tray inside measures 7" X 7", and is lined with a removable stainless steel screen, allowing for drainage and easy cleaning.
