VMI SPORTS | Citrulline is a no-frills pump product with just one star: L-Citrulline, a top nitric oxide booster in sports nutrition. The idea is simple—give you pure citrulline, no hidden blends, no stimulants, no junk, so you control the dose and what you mix it with. That's a smart move in a world where pump stuff often hides amounts or adds fluffy fillers for taste.

It's just L-Citrulline at 2,000mg per scoop. Here's how it works: citrulline turns into L-arginine way better than taking arginine straight—arginine gets broken down in your liver, but citrulline skips that and converts in your kidneys. That boosts arginine levels, which amps up nitric oxide, a gas that relaxes blood vessels. In the gym, that means better blood flow to your muscles, more nutrients and oxygen getting there, and that full, tight pump you're after. Plus, citrulline helps clear out ammonia through the urea cycle—ammonia's a waste product that builds up and makes you feel wiped during tough sets.

Let's be real about the dose. Citrulline has solid science: over 46 studies and 5 meta-analyses back it. The sweet spot for pumps and performance is usually 6,000-8,000mg. At 2,000mg per scoop, this is clear and honest, but it's under that range for max pre-workout punch. It's not useless—one scoop can give you a light boost in veins and workout feel, especially if your

VMI Sports Citrulline by VMI Sports contains 2000mg L-Citrulline, a standard dose for muscle recovery and growth.

Key Highlights

  • 2,000mg L-Citrulline per scoop—pure nitric oxide support with everything out in the open. No blends to figure out, so you know your exact dose and can bump it up smartly.
  • L-Citrulline is a top pump ingredient because it boosts arginine better than arginine itself. It skips the liver breakdown and changes in the kidneys, making nitric oxide more reliable.
  • The main perk is nitric oxide help. More nitric oxide widens blood vessels, improving flow, giving stronger pumps, and that full muscle feel during lifts.
  • Citrulline isn't just for showy pumps. It clears ammonia in the urea cycle—that stuff builds up and makes you feel flat and tired late in workouts.
  • Citrulline has strong evidence: over 46 trials and 5 meta-analyses. Way better backed than trendy pump add-ons that are more hype than help.
  • This is straightforward: one ingredient at 2g per scoop. That's under the 6,000-8,000mg studies often use for big effects, so it's great as a base to stack or scale, not a solo max-dose pump.
  • No stims means no forced buzz or caffeine messing with late workouts. Use it evenings, with your coffee, or add to a pre without extra energy overlap.
  • No other stuff means you can stack it however. Mix with caffeine for drive, creatine for power, electrolytes for hydration, or glycerol and nitrates for serious blood flow.

VMI Sports Citrulline by VMI Sports contains 2000mg L-Citrulline, a standard dose for muscle recovery and growth.

Who Is This For?

  • Bodybuilders on high-volume splits like push-pull-legs who want better flow and pumps without a full stim pre. Pure L-Citrulline lets them scale or stack per session.
  • Stack builders who DIY their pre instead of blends. Fully open 2,000mg per scoop means precise NO control with caffeine, creatine, electrolytes, or nitrates.
  • Late-night lifters needing pumps without caffeine messing sleep. Stim-free, focused on citrulline's arginine-NO boost, perfect for evenings.
  • Folks with a solid pre but low citrulline. Many formulas skimp on NO; this bumps total to research levels.
  • Guys who like unflavored, simple supps—sensitive to dyes, sweets, or flavors. No extras, no fillers, easy to mix.
  • Fasted trainers wanting light pre-amino that doesn't sit heavy. Citrulline boosts flow and feel, powder makes it simple.

How to Use

Mix 1 scoop in 8-12 oz water, down it 30-45 minutes pre-training. Gives L-Citrulline time to ramp arginine before heavy stuff. New to it? Start with 1 to check gut and flow response, especially with other NO boosters. For max pumps, know 2g is under 6,000-8,000mg from research—guys often multi-scoop or stack to hit that. Empty stomach for quick hit, or light meal if digestion's better; heavy food can dull any pre's feel. Stacks great with caffeine, glycerol, nitrates, creatine, electrolytes. No cycling needed—it's not stim-based or saturation-dependent. Keep in cool, dry spot, seal tight to avoid clumping.

What to Expect

First 10 minutes, nothing big since no stims. Around 20-40 minutes, you might feel more vascular and ready, especially pre-lifts or with caffeine/pump add-ons. In the workout, expect fuller pumps and better muscle connection over mental hype. One scoop is mild to okay; stronger needs 6-8g like studies. Days 1-7, no loading like creatine—it's about dose and timing. Weeks 2-4, steady use shows if it boosts flow, veins, and session quality for your routine.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much L-Citrulline is in each serving of VMI SPORTS | Citrulline?

Each scoop provides 2,000mg of pure L-Citrulline. There are 75 servings per container, and no other active ingredients are listed.

Is 2 grams of citrulline enough for a pre-workout pump?

It is a useful starting amount, but it is below the 6,000-8,000mg range most commonly studied for maximal pump and performance effects. One scoop may provide subtle support, while users chasing stronger evidence-backed effects often increase total intake.

Is this product stimulant-free?

Yes. Despite the metadata inconsistency, the verified formula contains only L-Citrulline at 2g per scoop and no caffeine or stimulant actives.

When should I take VMI Sports Citrulline?

Take it 30-45 minutes before training. That gives citrulline time to absorb and begin raising arginine levels before your working sets.

Can I stack this with my current pre-workout?

Yes, and that is one of the best uses for it. If your current pre-workout is light on citrulline, this product can help increase total nitric oxide support without adding more caffeine.

What does L-Citrulline actually do in the body?

L-Citrulline converts to L-arginine in the kidneys, and that arginine is then used to produce nitric oxide. Nitric oxide helps blood vessels relax and widen, improving blood flow and supporting stronger pumps during exercise.

Do I need to cycle this product?

No. L-Citrulline is not a stimulant and does not create tolerance in the same way caffeine-based pre-workouts can, so it can be used regularly as part of a training stack.

Is this better than citrulline malate?

This product uses straight L-Citrulline, which gives you exact control over how much actual citrulline you are taking. Citrulline malate can also be effective, but many users prefer pure citrulline when they want precise dosing without guessing how much of the blend is citrulline versus malate.

Will I feel this right away?

You should not expect a stimulant-like rush because this product contains no caffeine. What most users notice, if anything, is a better pump, more vascularity, and improved muscle fullness as training progresses.

Who is this product best for?

It is best for lifters who want a clean pump ingredient they can use alone or stack into a larger pre-workout routine. It is especially useful for evening trainers, stimulant-sensitive users, and experienced stack-builders.

Taste is good, reliable manufacturer
Thorne is a reputable brand that has come out with a magnesium citrate and has been certified by a third-party. I sometimes wonder about supplements online, but having a third-party certify the product gives me more peace of mind. It comes in a double protected container for further peace of mind. This magnesium citrate comes in a powder form and mixes fairly easily with cold water. There is bicarbonate in the product, so it has a slight bubbly texture. This really tastes like citrus berry and is sweetened with monk fruit extract. I like that it has no artificial sweeteners in it. Magnesium has been known to support muscle heart bone and the urinary tract. It can also help with constipation. My husband is a nurse and he says that they regularly administer this in the hospital when a patient has trouble with constipation. The recommended dosage is one scoop to 6 to 8 ounces of water. There are about 60 doses in the container. If taken once a day, this will last for two months. This is a good alternative to other magnesium supplements. It is a form that is usually well absorbed by the body. Given the reputation of the manufacturer, the ease of use, the benefits, and the ease of absorption, I can recommend this product if you are looking to increase magnesium in your diet.

Certified quality magnesium citrate
If you like powdered supplements and planning to take magnesium citrate, then this one if for you. I take it towards the end of the day, and in addition to the many benefits of magnesium, it actually helps me relax and sleep better, although those are not the main benefits of citrate. I guess we all react differently to supplements. My favorite setup is when I take it in the evening and sip on it during a sauna session. In all cases, I target end of day. The taste is very good and it mixes easily with water. Also, Thorne is a brand I trust and it's certified by various bodies. It's worth the premium but it's better to catch a deal on amazon or add it to subscribe and save for a discount if you're planning to use it long term.

Best magnesium from the best supplement brand.
Thorne can do no wrong in my book. They just can’t. I take magnesium every night. Usually magnesium glycinate. However, I read that that can start to cause night sweats over overtime. So moving decent was kind of a trial to see if that stopped the issue. It did immediately. The bonus of the powder though is that I can have it in a little bit of cherry juice or a mocktail before I go to bed. The flavor is great, and I haven’t noticed any grittiness whatsoever. That’s sad, I drink a lot of protein drinks so it’s entirely possible. I’m used to grittiness. Since starting to take this, I’ve been sleeping just as well as I have with the magnesium glycinate. Perhaps even a little bit better because this is higher quality and I’m not getting the night sweats.

Simple Magnesium Powder That Is Easy Enough to Take
I just started taking this Magnesium Citrate powder, so it is too early to know if it will help with things like muscle support, heart health, bone health. Magnesium is an important mineral for the body and it plays a role in muscle function, nerve signaling, and overall balance, so I like the idea of adding it to my routine. The citrus berry flavor is not too horrible, which is a pleasant surprise because some magnesium powders can taste pretty rough. This one is easy enough to drink without feeling like you have to force it down. I also like that it is third party certified and comes with a full sixty servings. I will need more time to see if it makes a noticeable difference, but so far the experience has been simple and the taste is manageable.

2 months supply, tasty berry bubblegum flavor, no morning cramps.
I've been taking Magnesium supplements for a long time, usually in capsule form. Starting from about age 45 I kept getting these awful morning calf cramps. Especially stretching, or on cold morning. The sudden agony was unexpected and concerning. Magnesium is the answer and this water-soluble magnesium from Thorne is no exception. For this particular problem, calf cramps. The results are noticable within a couple of days. If I stop taking magnesium for 3-5 days the cramps come back. Thorne powder has a berry flavor that is very similar to bubble gum. It dissolves easily without leaving any lumps. Is great to help you take your other supplements. I've been taking this for about 3 weeks with no cramps. Price is a little higher than capsules typically are. This works for me and the tub should last two-months if you follow the directions.
