Simarine 5m Temperature Sensor: Precision Monitoring for Marine and RV Systems

Accurate temperature tracking is a critical component of advanced power and fluid management in mobile applications. The Simarine 5m Temperature Sensor delivers precise, real-time thermal data directly to your Simarine monitoring network. Whether you are outfitting a caravan, camper trailer, or marine vessel, maintaining optimal operating temperatures for your equipment extends its lifespan and enhances safety. This high-quality probe seamlessly integrates with Simarine modules, providing reliable readings for batteries, refrigeration units, ambient cabin spaces, and engine compartments.

High-Accuracy NTC Thermistor Technology

At the core of this sensor is an advanced NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient) thermistor, specifically rated at 5K with a 1% tolerance (3950 beta value). This technical specification ensures the probe delivers highly sensitive and accurate resistance changes in response to temperature fluctuations. In practical terms, this precise accuracy translates to reliable data on your Simarine display. Consistent monitoring allows your system to detect subtle temperature shifts early, helping you avoid critical issues like overheating batteries or underperforming refrigeration units.

Durable and Waterproof Brass Probe

Mobile and off-grid environments expose equipment to challenging conditions, including high humidity, condensation, and occasional water exposure. To combat these elements, the sensor features a fully waterproof housing protecting the internal thermistor. The probe itself is constructed from high-quality brass, a material selected for its excellent thermal conductivity and strong resistance to corrosion. This ensures fast response times to temperature changes while maintaining long-term durability in harsh marine or coastal environments.

Versatile Applications Across Your Vessel or Vehicle

Integrating a dedicated temperature sensor into your system solves multiple monitoring challenges. By attaching the probe to your main battery bank, you can monitor thermal behaviour during heavy charge and discharge cycles, significantly reducing the risk of thermal runaway or capacity degradation. Alternatively, routing the sensor into a 12V or 24V fridge or freezer provides peace of mind that your perishables remain at safe temperatures. It is also an excellent solution for monitoring ambient cabin temperatures or tracking critical engine bay conditions.

Effortless Integration and Installation

Installation is straightforward thanks to the generous 5-metre black insulated cable. This length provides the flexibility required to route the sensor through bulkheads, under floors, or behind cabinetry without the need for additional extensions. The cable terminates in pre-stripped wire ends, allowing for rapid and secure connection to your Simarine shunt or tank module.

Key Features

  • High Precision: 5K 1% 3950 NTC thermistor for highly accurate temperature tracking
  • Waterproof Construction: Brass probe housing protects against moisture and corrosion
  • Extended Reach: 5-metre insulated cable allows for flexible routing across large setups
  • Ready to Wire: Pre-stripped cable ends facilitate quick connections to Simarine modules
  • Multi-Purpose Design: Ideal for monitoring batteries, fridges, cabins, and engine bays

Complete Your Monitoring Network

Do not leave the health of your expensive batteries and critical systems to chance. Enhance your setup by adding precise thermal tracking to your existing network. Order your Simarine temperature sensor today and ensure your off-grid power systems operate safely and efficiently.

History of Egypt
Format: Kindle
Egypt has played a vital role throughout history. This book traces and evaluates the history of Egypt from ancient times until the modern period. During ancient times, the Pharaohs created a strong Egypt. During the Ottoman times, Egypt played a significant role as a regional power. Both French and British played a vital role in Egyptian politics. The Suez canal put Egypt, an important player in world commerce. The Nasser regime entered Egypt into cold world politics. The USA managed under Sadat to place Egypt at the American camp. Eventually, Egypt was the first Arab country to sign a peace treaty with Israel after various brutal wars. Egyptian culture dominated western civilization throughout the centuries. The reader will enjoy this book.

Great summary of Egyptian history
Format: Kindle
The book is—as the subtitle states—an “Overview of Egyptian History.” The book is a brief summary of Egypt’s long and interesting history. It starts with historical events: who were the rulers? What territories did Egypt conquer? Who conquered Egypt. The second part of the book discusses social, economic, and religious history. This primer lays out all of the above topics but with little detail so the reader may wish to select topics of interest to study in further depth elsewhere. Because Egypt’s history includes millennia, I find it hard to understand, so reading this book was valuable to me. The book is written in a style that makes it easy to read. It is not at all dry as some textbooks can be. I recommend this book to anyone who wants an overview of Egyptian history and look forward to reading other books in the series.

Far from enthralling, but I did learn
Format: Paperback
This book was a disappointment. It looked like exactly what I was looking for: an overview of the history, society, and culture of Egypt from ancient to modern times that wasn't 500+ pages long. I did learn a fair bit of information, but unfortunately, the book is far from "enthralling." It reads like a high school student's book report. In addition, it sometimes just throws terms out there with no explanation, and I found myself having to consult Google. For example, it says "Since hieroglyphs were difficult to create, the Egyptians developed hieretic writing, which was a type of cursive script. Later, demotic writing was developed for ordinary documents." What is demotic writing? How is it different from hieretic? The book doesn't even provide a picture. I had to go to Wikipedia to find out what these things are. This book needs slightly more detail and an author with better writing style / storytelling abilities. That said, it still may be the best short introduction available.
