Matthew has taken a difficult topic and expanded on it based not only on the Word, but also based on visions, prophecy from others, and revelation knowledge from the Holy Spirit. For instance, I have always thought the two witnesses in Revelation are Enoch and Elijah because God took them (they did not die) and because man is appointed once to die.
