In Namiji, you play as fishers from the Japan of yesteryear, navigating the waters just south of the Japanese archipelago, not far from the famous Tokaido road. To win the game, you'll need to have a successful day at sea. You’ll have the chance to marvel at beautiful marine species, fish with a line or net to fill your racks with vibrant fish, and haul in crustaceans using traps. Along the way, you can make stops to upgrade your fishing gear, and you’ll also need to appease the gods of the sea by setting offerings afloat or fulfilling their wishes as expressed during your contemplation at the Sacred Rocks, for which they will reward you. Namiji is the spiritual successor to the best-selling and award-winning Tokaido, but it is a standalone game with its own unique rules and gameplay mechanics.
