Las cartas falsas que los judíos escribieron obligados por los nazis

«Te escribo desde el campo de trabajo de Birkenau, donde me encuentro ahora. Estoy sano, trabajo y espero noticias tuyas».

Esta es una carta que uno de los presos judíos escribió para tranquilizar a sus familiares y ocultar la horrible realidad de los campos de concentración. Esta fachada es parte de la Brief-Aktion, «Operación Cartas», un intercambio epistolar entre los presos de Auschwitz y sus allegados que buscaba encubrir las atrocidades que vivían día a día.

Karen Taieb hace una recopilación detallada de toda la correspondencia que los deportados escribieron entre 1942 y 1944. Cartas llenas de mentiras y lugares comunes por parte de los autores para no revelar todo lo que había detrás.
