Weight Cutting Masterclass

The Weight Cutting Masterclass is an in depth educational course designed for qualified dietitians, trained nutritionists and combat sport coaches who want to better understand the science, systems and real world application of weight cutting.

Weight cutting is one of the most misunderstood areas of combat sport nutrition. When it is done poorly, it can compromise performance, recovery, health and athlete safety. When it is done properly, it requires structure, planning, scientific understanding and practical experience.

This masterclass combines the latest evidence in acute weight loss, dehydration, rehydration, glycogen manipulation, sodium, gut content, thermoregulation and post weigh in recovery with the hands on experience Team TFD has developed working with some of the most elite combat sport athletes in the world.

Across 10 structured teaching modules, you will learn how to think through the full weight cutting process, from understanding why fighters cut weight, through to body composition assessment, fight week strategy, weigh in management and post weigh in recovery.

This is not a certification. It is a highly in depth educational course designed to improve your understanding, confidence, decision making and ability to apply weight cutting principles in the real world.

The course includes structured lessons, homework sheets, case based application, discussion board access, Q&As with Team TFD and fortnightly online catch ups to help you turn the science into practical systems you can use with athletes.

The next cohort begins June 2, 2026 and is capped at 30 participants. Places are application based to make sure the group is aligned, practical and valuable for everyone involved.
