When the lid is open, the strong wire screen on the inside keeps out raccoons and other predators while still letting plenty of air flow through. The wooden drop-down lid closes tightly with a secure latch, giving extra protection during storms or at night.

For even better airflow on hot summer days, many customers also add an Exhaust Fan on the opposite end of the coop. Paired with a Gable Vent, it creates strong cross ventilation that helps pull warm air out and keep the coop comfortable.
