High Velocity Wireless Auto Start Powertrain with Snap-On Wheel Exchange for Heavy Industrial Production

The Makita GAG11Z 40V Max XGT Brushless 5-Inch Angle Grinder is a battery-powered cutting and surface preparation tool engineered to deliver up to 60% faster cutting speeds across demanding masonry and metal fabrications. Driven by an advanced industrial brushless motor powered by the high-voltage XGT system, this cordless power tool maintains variable operating speeds from 3,000 to 8,500 RPM under load. The architecture integrates an automated snap-on X-LOCK spindle interface for tool-free accessory changes, Active Feedback-sensing Technology (AFT) for instant bind-up mitigation, a rapid 2-second electric safety brake, and Bluetooth AWS capability for wireless dust extractor communication.

**Battery and charger sold separately.

Best Used For:

  • Thick Metal Cutting: Slicing rapidly through heavy-gauge galvanized conduit tracks, structural unistrut channels, and raw steel reinforcing rebar plates.
  • Production Weld Dressing: Stripping coarse structural weld lines, beveling plate steel edges, and removing hard carbon scale buildup uniformly.
  • Masonry Expansion Jointing: Scoring straight, crisp relief channels and trimming composite paving blocks, concrete walls, or tile surfaces with dust extraction integration.

Key Performance & Safety Features

  • X-LOCK Mount Architecture: Snap-on accessory interface locks grinding wheels instantly without nuts and detaches rapidly via a physical lift-lever mechanism.
  • XGT 40V Commercial Power: Advanced high-voltage electronic platform yields corded-equivalent torque output for high-load industrial cutting cycles.
  • AWS Vacuum Synchronization: Auto-Start Wireless System provides automated Bluetooth communication to trigger matched dust collectors simultaneously during grinding.
  • AFT Back-Torque Protection: Intelligent electronic feedback loop triggers immediate motor shutdown if the cutting wheel jams or experiences sudden speed loss.
  • Two Second Active Brake: Integrated electrical braking mechanism decelerates rotating cut-off wheels to a complete stop within 2 seconds for operator protection.

Far from enthralling, but I did learn
Format: Paperback
This book was a disappointment. It looked like exactly what I was looking for: an overview of the history, society, and culture of Egypt from ancient to modern times that wasn't 500+ pages long. I did learn a fair bit of information, but unfortunately, the book is far from "enthralling." It reads like a high school student's book report. In addition, it sometimes just throws terms out there with no explanation, and I found myself having to consult Google. For example, it says "Since hieroglyphs were difficult to create, the Egyptians developed hieretic writing, which was a type of cursive script. Later, demotic writing was developed for ordinary documents." What is demotic writing? How is it different from hieretic? The book doesn't even provide a picture. I had to go to Wikipedia to find out what these things are. This book needs slightly more detail and an author with better writing style / storytelling abilities. That said, it still may be the best short introduction available.

Recommended read by tour guide to Egypt
Format: Paperback
Very good history book of Egypt in non-complicated terms. I wish there were more pictures and maps to add to the descriptions in the book. Read this as it was recommended by our tour guide to Egypt in April
