The Chase Bays Oil Catch Can is one of the most important modifications you can do to your engine! It is essential for preventing harmful oil and carbon buildup in the intake system, decreasing oil consumption effectively raising octane levels, increasing performance with cleaner inlet air, and properly venting the crankcase pressures in the most aesthetically pleasing, modular, and easiest to install solution on the market.

Our Oil Catch Can features a 10AN ORB Inlet and Outlet, 4AN ORB drain, 3-stage oil separation baffling, a dipstick, and an o-ring sealed can to be safe for boost and recirculated systems. Something we highly recommend over vent-to-atmosphere. Closed/Recirc loop systems bring clean filtered air back through the engine to be burned and promotes negative crankcase pressure for optimal performance. Closed systems also eliminate unwanted oil vapors and smells in the car.

The FA20 Flat Four platform in the 86/FR-S/BRZ chassis massively benefits from a catch can. The flat four’s utilize both a higher pressure side; PCV (positive crankcase vent) system and a lower pressure side, CCV (crankcase vent). They’re two terms for almost the same thing but the PCV side is pulled from higher pressure portion than the CCV, and they are both worth bringing to a catch can. Where our kit really innovates is we merge the two “systems” into ONE catch can for simplification. There are zero adverse outputs to doing this and of course has been rigorously tested on our 450hp BRZ:

The catch can mounts in the very center of the engine bay behind the intake manifold, on the engine itself, so it doesn’t conflict with any other components plus it looks cleaner than cluttering up the shock tower area. The CCV portion comes from under the AC compressor, the PCV portion comes from behind the intake manifold on the right side (over cyl 3). They both route to our L-Fitting on the Catch Can. Then the OUT portion routes back to the intake manifold on NA engines or to the turbo inlet (pre-turbo) on turbo engines.
