Wat we nog niet wisten....

Wist je dat de merel de meest voorkomende broedvogel is in Nederland? Merels zijn best lawaaierig, hè! Als er een kat in de buurt sluipt, dan waarschuwen ze andere dieren met hun luide alarmroep, dat doen ze echt langdurig. Hun nesten zijn vaak makkelijk te spotten, waardoor helaas veel eieren en jonge mereltjes ten prooi vallen aan katten en kraaien. Maar ondanks die verliezen zijn er nog steeds heel veel merels: ze maken dat verlies goed door lekker veel jongen groot te brengen. En in het voorjaar? Dan zingt de mannetjesmerel prachtig vanaf een hoge plek, echt een mooi lied!

Materiaaleigenschappen Cortenstaal

De metalen decoraties zijn gemaakt van cortenstaal, een supersterk materiaal. Door weersinvloeden krijgt het na een tijdje een mooie, roestbruine kleur, waardoor er een beschermlaagje ontstaat. Dit laagje beschermt het metaal eronder, het hele jaar door. Zo blijven de metalen decoraties jarenlang mooi. Alle metalen decoraties worden geleverd  in "blank" metaal!!

Closing it when you have a ring.

Its a nice box but the problem i have with it is the middle piece. It does not give enough room if you have a ring that sits high like a cocktail ring. And same if you have a pendant necklace in the necklace area. You have ro really force it closed and i worry that it will put pressure on the items. It would work better without that middle piece for earrings or maybe if it were half the size. Closes fine when its empty but the minute you put a ring in the ring spot that has any kind of height you have to squeeze it shut. Its a good little box that you can put in a safe. Thats why i use it. Just to put my good jewelry in it and then secure it properly in a small house safe. Also ive already had the backs of a few earring pop off when I've opened the earring flap because it all rubs together. .
