Frambozenplant, Rubus idaeus
Er bestaan grofweg twee soorten frambozen: de herfst- en de zomerframboos. De zomerframboos is rijp in juni en juli en heeft een cyclus van twee jaar. De struik geeft dus niet ieder jaar vruchten. De herfstframboos geeft weliswaar minder vruchten, maar hij geeft ze wel ieder jaar. De frambozen rijpen vanaf augustus tot de eerste nachtvorst. De framboos is uitermate geschikt om er siroop of jam van te maken.

Verzorgen
De framboos groeit goed op verschillende gronden, maar let er wel op dat de grond voldoende humusrijk en vochtig is. Plant de struik op een zonnige tot half schaduwrijke plek in je tuin. Hoe meer zonlicht op de plant valt, hoe groter het succes op lekkere frambozen. Vogels zijn ook gek op frambozen. Bescherm de struik door bijvoorbeeld een net te plaatsen. Snoei enkel na de oogst, vaak rond oktober, zodat het jaar erop weer een grote oogst gevormd kan worden. Snoei het oude hout weg en laat de jonge scheuten zitten. Hier komen het jaar erop weer frambozen aan. Vogels zijn ook gek op frambozen. Bescherm de struik door bijvoorbeeld een net te plaatsen.

Hoe ziet mijn Frambozen fruitplanten er precies uit?
De geleverde frambozen fruitplanten kan, afhankelijk van het bestelmoment, afwijken van de getoonde afbeeldingen. Omdat een Rubus een natuurproduct is met verschillende groei- en bloeistadia, is het niet mogelijk altijd exact de juiste stadia in afbeeldingen weer te geven. Hieronder zie je hoe de fruitplant er per seizoen uit ziet.

Herfst: blad gaat verkleuren en vallen
Winter: kaal

I don't know if I'd call the scent of this "bacon," more like rubber with a hint of bacon. It's very strong. I gave my dog one of the balls & put one in a cabinet where I keep his treats & a few other unrelated odds & ends. I now hold my breath when I open that cabinet b/c good lord, the smell. I'm tempted to just give that one to the dog too, just because it'll air out eventually & then everything else in that cabinet won't smell bad. My dog feels so-so about it. He'll briefly chase after it & chew on it, but loses interest in it pretty fast. My rather hyperactive cat also plays with it from time to time, as he seems to have more interest in most dog toys than the dog these days, so there's that. (Then again, he thinks a wide variety of random items around the house are loads of fun to toss about, so it's possible his opinion is to be taken with a grain of salt. Between the brief periods of one of these balls being chewed on & clawed at, it's stayed completely intact. I think if you have a dog who simply likes to play fetch or chew on rubber balls in general, this one would stand up to the task. But if you're expecting it to be greeted with the enthusiasm as a bacon grease covered ball might be - I'd adjust your expectations.
