Door middel van het plaatsen van een afdekzeil, wordt de carrosserie van de auto en andere machines niet blootgesteld aan roest en vermijdt u mechanische schade die kan optreden bij een fikse hagelbui. Hout, stro of andere materialen zijn tevens eenvoudig af te denken met het afdekzeil zodat er geen vocht bij kan.
