In het hart van de Douro regio vinden we Quinta dos Murcas. Een historische plek waar in 1947 de eerste wijngaard werd aangeplant. Quinta dos Murcas staat bekend om haar bergen, de vele zonuren en de leisteenbodems. Na het grote succes van het wijnbedrijf Esporao was het wijnhuis op zoek naar uitbreiding. En al snel kwamen ze uit bij Quinta dos Murcas. Hier vonden ze het juiste terroir om elegante wijnen te produceren. De grote diversiteit aan bodems maakt dat er hier zowel witte als rode wijnen geproduceerd kunnen worden. De druiven voor deze blendwijn zijn afkomstig van de oudste wijngaarden van het wijnhuis. Op een hoogte van 150 tot 280 meter genieten de druiven van een perfect klimaat. Het resulteert tot wijnen met een grote elegantie. Bij optimale rijpheid worden de druiven handmatig geoogst en direct naar de wijnmakerij gebracht. Hier volgt een strenge selectie, waarna de druiven worden ontsteeld en geplet. De alcoholische gisting vindt plaats met inheemse gisten bij een gecontroleerde temperatuur. Tot slot rijpt de Reserva wijn nog 12 maanden in Franse eikenhouten vaten.De geur en smaak van Quinta dos Murças Reserva
Met een dieprode kleur verschijnt de Quinta dos Murcas Reserva in het glas. Een complex aroma springt ui het glas. Zwart fruit, balsamico en hints van kruiden vullen elkaar aan. De smaak is stevig en geconcentreerd. Rijpe tannines in de mond met een evenwichtige zuurgraad. Deze rode wijn heeft een lange en aanhoudende afdronk met duidelijke fruittonen.Shipping Notes

Looks nice and seems to work well, but the black retaining ring randomly fell out.

The pepper grinder looks nice and initially functioned well as expected. However, as at least 9 other reviewers have noted experiencing, within 2 weeks of purchase and after very minimal usage, the black retaining ring around the grinder cone & adjustment knob just fell out when I was using the grinder, which was disappointing and indicative of poor design or construction for this part. After some research & experimentation, I was able to pop the ring back into place using needle-nose pliers (you just need something hard and narrow to push and flex the ring a bit, not necessarily pliers). I'm hoping that this is not a harbinger of other problems to come. Otherwise it's a nice grinder.

Not Overly Large and Easy to Use

I’ve been looking for a salt grinder for a long time. I was hoping to find something small—closer to the disposable grinders you see at the grocery store—but those don’t really seem to be available.
So I decided to try this one, and overall I’m glad I did. I’ve included photos to give a better sense of the size compared to your store size non-refillable salt grinders, since it’s a bit larger than what I originally had in mind.
The grinder works smoothly and doesn’t require much effort to use. You can easily adjust the grind size by turning the knob on the top of the grinder, which is a nice feature.
Refilling it was also straightforward. I had no trouble pouring in coarse Himalayan salt from a larger container without making a mess.

Excellent product. I accidentally broke one of mine and was pleased that I was able to purchase one grinder. They’re beautiful and very well made. Grind salt and pepper easily and many different coarseness. And they are pretty.
