IGT Emilia Pignoletto Frizzante 2024 - Corte d'AiboD knaller van de afgelopen jaren. En wat waren we allemaal van slag toen deze laatst even uit de running was. Gelukkig nu weer terug van weggeweest. Vroeger was Pignoletto niet alleen de naam van de druif maar ook van het gebied waar deze geteelt werd, op de heuvels rondom Bologna (Emilia Romagna). Om verwarring te voorkomen is er in 2015 besloten om een nieuwe naam aan de druif te geven ; Grechetto Gentile. Wij houden het stiekem liever op

Vroeger was Pignoletto niet alleen de naam van de druif maar ook van het gebied waar deze geteelt werd, op de heuvels rondom Bologna (Emilia-Romagna). Om verwarring te voorkomen is er in 2015 besloten om een nieuwe naam aan de druif te geven ; Grechetto Gentile. Wij houden het stiekem liever op Pignoletto. Deze van Corte d’Aibo is dan ook zeer uitgesproken en kruidig met frisse zuren en smaken van tropisch fruit. Een fijne, zachte mousse met lichte bitters en toch rond in de afdronk.

Pignoletto is iets strakker en frisser dan Prosecco (gemaakt van de glera druif). Ze vormt hét alternatief voor Prosecco. Met de alsmaar stijgende prijs van Prosecco is het een zeer goed alternatief met een veel betere prijs-kwaliteit verhouding. Perfect in combinatie met tortellini en ideaal bij mortadella, de koningin van het Bologna-aperitief.

Druivensoort(en): 100% Grechetto Gentile (Pignoletto)
In de wijngaard: De wijngaarden bevinden zich 200 meter boven zeeniveau. Druivenstokken staan richting het westen. De hoogte geeft genoeg zuren/frisheid aan de wijn. Ondergrond van klei en leem.

In 1989 namen Antonio Capelli en Mario Pirondini het welgetelde 35 hectare aan landgoed over. Gelegen op de heuvels van Monteveglio, nabij Bologna, schakelde ze volledig over op de biologische landbouw. Langzamer en milieubewuster te werk gaan, met respect voor het land, natuur en cultuur, zoals in de vroegere jaren. Een gegeven waar collega’s, vrienden en familie hun volledig voor gek voor verklaarde. Antonio en Mario met hun ‘gekke’ project. Desondanks vormde dat ‘gekke project de geboorte van Corte d’Aibo. Producten produceren die het verhaal van het gebied, terroir en passie vertellen

 Het grootste deel van de productie is gewijd aan de inheemse wijnstokken, de Grechetto Gentile, waaruit de Pignoletto DOC en de Colli Bolognesi Pignoletto DOCG zijn geboren, ongetwijfeld de meest interessante witte wijnen van Bologna. Fris en smakelijk en sprankelende, met veel structuur en charme.
