Doormiddel van sterke compressie van lucht wanneer de 'Plunger' plotseling in de huls wordt gedrukt, gaat de schaal erin gloeien. Wakker het gloeiende gedeelte nog wat verder aan en steek uw kampvuur of de buitenkeuken er mee aan. De Fire piston is korter dan een handlengte en wordt opgeborgen in een praktisch zakje. Hij past in elke soort bagage en kan zelfs comfortabel in uw zak worden gedragen. Het Verkoolde katoen en het smeermiddel worden opgeslagen in de uiteinden van de zuiger en de zuigerbus en zijn zo optimaal beschermd tegen vocht. Na het vullen van de kolfkop met schaalverdeling is de Petromax vuurkolf klaar voor gebruik.
