VINTAGE

Het groeiseizoen 2022 begon met een sterke groeikracht van de scheuten. De vegetatieve groei werd onderdrukt door de wind van eind november, die een impact had op de grootte van de trossen en een kleinere oogst opleverde. Eind februari stopte de regen de wijnstokken om het rijpingsseizoen te verlengen. De Cabernet Sauvignon en Syrah werden begin april in dezelfde week geoogst, terwijl de Pinotage midden maart werd geoogst.

VITICULTUUR

Alle wijnstokken zijn geplant in een verticaal systeem met verticale scheuten en westelijk en zuidelijk georiënteerde hellingen van afgebroken Malmesbury leisteenbodems. De zomersnoei werd uitgesteld door de wind in november. Tijdens de erwtenperiode worden enkel de bladeren van de ochtendzon die de trossen bedekken verwijderd voor beluchting, vruchtbaarheid van de wijnstok en kleurvorming van de bessen.

Smaaknotities

Deze blend is een weelderige en gepolijste wijn met een parfum van frambozen en moerbeien dat in de mond wordt gevolgd door zijdezachte tannines, zoete specerijen en cacao.  Deze elegante rode blend past uitstekend bij gegrild vlees, geroosterde wortelgroenten en stevige stoofpotten. Zijn zachte tannines en fruitige toetsen complementeren de rijke, hartige smaken van een echte Zuid-Afrikaanse keuken, waardoor dit een heerlijke en ideale wijn is voor je zondagse familiediner.
