Net als het in 2010 verschenen Fit met Voeding Kookboek borduurt dit nieuwe boek voort op de jarenlange samenwerking van Gert Schuitemaker en Jac van Dongen. De eerste bracht begin jaren tachtig de orthomoleculaire geneeskunde naar Nederland. Een tak van sport waarin voedingsstoffen centraal staan. Later promoveerde Schuitemaker op het thema risicofactoren voor hart- en vaatziekten. Hij is al jarenlang hoofdredacteur van de tijdschriften ORTHO en Fit met Voeding.

Jac van Dongen is sinds jaar en dag auteur van de rubriek 'Ortho Cuisine' in Fit met Voeding en redacteur van ORTHO. Hij werkte tientallen jaren in de voedingsindustrie. Daarnaast is koken al een halve eeuw een persoonlijke interesse. Deze belangstelling is nauw verbonden met de chemie zijn kernvak. Door de jaren heen zag Van Dongen hoe koken zich ontwikkelde tot een wetenschap. Zélf weet hij een ding zeker: 'lekker' is belangrijk maar dit geldt in gelijke mate voor de gezondheidswaarde van een gerecht.

Bij alle maaltijdadviezen en recepten gaan daarom gezond én lekker hand in hand waarbij 'biologisch' en producten direct van het land de voorkeur genieten. Met het doel fit te worden én te blijven.
