Na het onverwachte overlijden van haar vader verwachtte zangeres Liza van POM een rauw en donker rouwalbum te schrijven. In plaats daarvan ontstond Enlightened, Baby: een kleurrijke popplaat vol glitter, roze en aanstekelijke melodieën. Door tijdens het schrijven haar blik naar buiten te richten, vond ze houvast in een periode van paniek, verdriet en verwarring. Enlightened, baby kijkt terug en drijft de spot met het idee dat we voorbereid kunnen zijn op de diepste dalen die het leven ons voorschotelt. De nummers op het album vertellen elk op hun eigen manier een verhaal over “enlightenment”. Daarbij richt zangeres Liza haar blik op de mensen om haar heen — van een relatiebreuk tot een eenzame scheiding en een cultleider met grootheidswaan — waarin onverwachte momenten van inzicht opduiken. Gedreven door de angst om cynisch te worden, groeiden eerlijke en oprechte songs, zoals I WANT IT!, een ode aan liefde in al haar vormen. Met stemmen van vrienden in de koren voelt het album meer dan ooit als een gezamenlijk werk: een plaat die laat horen dat rouw misschien nooit verdwijnt, maar wel draaglijker wordt wanneer je haar samen deelt. I'm initially impressed with this valet tray. I purchased two for my husband: one for his nightstand and one for his dresser, as he likes to keep things organized. We liked the idea of the wireless charging capabilities, but were a little disappointed to discover that the power adapter (wall plug) is not included with the tray. The tray includes a charging pad and a cord, but no wall plug. We don't have an extra pair in the house, so we'll have to wait until a pack arrives before we can test out the charging capabilities. That aside, the trays are a handsome set. I think 20% larger might serve us a tad better, but this will do very nicely for now. We're able to fit almost everything we need in the tray and that will leave the tables looking much tidier, even if one or two items don't quite make it in.
