Vorig jaar toerde de band al met een “verzoekjesshow” door België (Paradise by the Dashboard Light, Walk like an Egyptian). Dit jaar wordt in gang getrapt met Danny en Danny, een volledige coverplaat. Alles Nederlandstalig maar verder vooral heel eclectisch. Een paar klassiekers - hallo Louis Neefs, dag Urbanus - en een paar minder bekende pareltjes. Fixkes doet er vrolijk zijn eigen ding mee. 

Fixkes is nog steeds wereldberoemd in Vlaanderen, op zijn minst dankzij de recordhit kvraagetaan. Die stond honderdduizend weken op nummer één en is intussen in het collectieve geheugen gegrift. Minstens één persoon (niet hijzelf) noemde zanger Sam Valkenborgh al de Ray Davies van de Lage Landen vanwege zijn gave om kleine situaties haarfijn te observeren en om te toveren in iets groots. De band gooide ondertussen indierock, hiphop, folk en Urbanus in de blender en maakte er een herkenbaar, enigszins eclectisch brouwsel van. Zo dus ook op Danny en Danny, waar de liefde voor mooie songs van afdruipt. Binnenkort misschien ook in het collectieve geheugen. En als dat niet het geval is, even goede vrienden.
