Car Radio Wiring Harness Connector for GM Vehicles
Key Features
- EIA Standard Color Coding: Features industry-standard wire colors (e.g., Yellow for 12V Constant, Red for 12V Accessory, Black for Ground) to ensure a straightforward connection to any aftermarket stereo.
- Plug-and-Play Integration: Designed to connect directly to the vehicle’s factory harness, allowing for the installation of a new radio without the need to cut or splice original vehicle wiring.
- High-Quality Copper Conductors: Utilizes high-conductivity copper strands to provide stable power delivery and clear audio signals to your speakers, minimizing electrical resistance.
- Durable ABS Molded Connector: The plastic housing is precision-molded from high-grade ABS to ensure a tight, secure fit that resists vibration and remains connected over rough terrain.
- Easy Installation Design: Includes pre-stripped wire ends to reduce preparation time, allowing for a cleaner and more professional-looking wiring job behind the dashboard.

Compatibility & Fitment
This harness is the standard interface for "New Body Style" GM trucks, vans, and SUVs. Key compatible models include:
- Chevrolet: Silverado 1500/2500/3500 (2007–2013), Suburban (2007–2014), Tahoe (2007–2014), Express Van (2008–2015), Avalanche (2007–2013).
- GMC: Sierra 1500/2500/3500 (2007–2013), Yukon / Yukon XL (2007–2014), Savana Van (2006–2015).
- Cadillac: Escalade / Escalade ESV & EXT (2007–2014).
- Note: This is a basic wiring harness designed for Non-Amplified (Non-Bose) systems. Vehicles with factory Bose, OnStar, or steering wheel controls require a specialized data interface module to retain those features.
When to Replace
- Stereo Upgrade: Required when replacing the factory radio with an aftermarket head unit (e.g., Pioneer, Kenwood, Alpine) to maintain electrical connectivity.
- Damaged Terminals: If the original factory plug has been cut or the pins have been bent, causing intermittent power or speaker loss.
- Audio Signal Loss: When the existing harness has loose connections or corroded wires that result in static or speakers cutting out while driving.
- System Restoration: Used to fix "hacked" wiring where a previous owner bypassed the factory plugs, allowing you to return the vehicle to a clean, standardized connection.
- Short Circuit Prevention: Replace old or brittle harnesses where the insulation has cracked, which can lead to electrical shorts or blown fuses.
Installation Tips
- Safety First: CRITICAL: Disconnect the negative battery terminal before starting work on the dashboard to prevent accidental short circuits or damage to the vehicle's computer system.
- Accessory Power Note: PRO TIP: Most 2007+ GM trucks do not have a 12V "switched" (Red) wire in the factory harness. You will likely need to run the Red wire from your new radio to the vehicle's fuse box using an "Add-A-Circuit" fuse tap to ensure the radio turns on and off with the key.
- Bench Assembly: Connect this harness to your aftermarket radio’s wiring harness on a workbench using crimp connectors or solder and heat-shrink tubing before taking it into the vehicle.
- Antenna Adapter: GM vehicles of this era use a non-standard antenna plug. You will need a "GM Antenna Adapter" (such as Metra 40-CR10) to connect the factory antenna to your new radio.
- Check for Chimes: In these vehicles, the factory chimes (door dings, turn signals) play through the radio speakers. A basic harness will lose these sounds; if you want to keep them, you must use a specific chime-retention interface.
