Explore the intricate relationship between globalization and work with 'Globalization and Work.' This brand-new book, published by John Wiley & Sons in 2013, presents a comprehensive analysis of how work is influenced by globalization. With 300 pages filled with cutting-edge research and sociological insights, it covers a variety of crucial topics such as work identity, employment in multinationals, international labor standards, and the dynamics of labor movements within a global context. Delving into themes of gender inequality, migrant labor, and the organization of work in global factories, the book challenges traditional views of globalization as a top-down process orchestrated by governments and corporations. Description:
This engaging book offers a lively and rigorous synthesis of the varied interconnections between work and globalization. Drawing on relevant sociological insights, and based on extensive, up-to-date research studies of work and employment, it brings together for the first time in a single volume a range of key topics, including: consumption, work and identity in a globalizing world; work and employment in multinationals; international labour standards; trade unions, labour movements and labour conflict under globalization; gender and inequality; migrant labour; transnational mobility; and the organization of work in global factories. Globalization and Work challenges conceptions of globalization as a project orchestrated by governments, multinational companies and international agencies. The authors highlight the importance of integrating a grounded, bottom-up perspective which recognizes that globalization is not just something that happens to working people, thereby revealing the fascinating extent to which workers actively engage in producing globalization. Throughout, the book contains a number of features to deepen understanding, including case study boxes of topical examples from across the globe.Globalization and Work is an essential new book for anyone interested in globalization, the sociology of work and comparative employment relations, especially undergraduate and postgraduate students taking modules on these and related topics.

Desk Hub
Good device! I was able to mount it between 2 desks that are head to head, and we’re able to share the plugs very well. Plenty of space to mount on my 2” thick desk.

Great value and capacity for the real estate ratio is perfect.
It certainly takes up less real estate on my desk with a very high port capacity. It's solid and I like the fact that it can attached to a thicker surface. It was very easy to install and the plugs give good options as there's always some cord that can't be plugged in. The USBs are a bonus as I already have ports on a different device. But, I'm sure I'll end up using these USB ports eventually. The value is really good for the capacity you get. Having the strip further in to use the back plugs easier makes a lot of sense. Could be an issue for some who don't have table real estate as it does push the strip in a bit.

Useful and Stable!
This has earned a permanant spot on my desk or any desk I might get in the future. Very convenient for charging devices, including USB-C outputs that are popping up more and more. Very stable, I never have to adjust it.

Great quality
Easy to use, and design makes it functional to move and adjust as needed. Safe with children and the size is good for where I placed it on a small sliding table. Quality is pretty durable.
