15" Stainless Steel Braided RV Propane Pigtail Hose (1/4" Male Inverted Flare) - Pack of 2

Key Features

  • Reinforced Stainless Steel Braiding: Features a rugged stainless steel outer wrap that protects the internal high-pressure hose from UV degradation, road debris abrasion, and rodent damage, significantly extending the hose's lifespan.
  • QCC1 Type-1 Tank Connector: Equipped with a standard QCC1 (ACME) nut that includes a built-in thermal shut-off and excess flow check for maximum safety during propane transport and appliance operation.
  • Precision 1/4" Male Inverted Flare: Specifically designed to connect seamlessly to the 1/4-inch inverted flare inlets found on most modern RV auto-changeover two-stage regulators, ensuring a metal-on-metal, high-pressure seal.
  • High-BTU Capacity Rating: Rated for up to 200,000 BTUs per hour, providing a consistent and powerful gas flow to high-demand RV appliances like furnaces, water heaters, and multi-burner ranges.

Replaces / Cross-Reference Part Numbers

  • Industry Standards: 1/4" Inverted Flare Pigtail, RV Propane Hose 15-Inch.
  • Manufacturer Equivalents: Camco 59055, Marshall Excelsior MER425-15, Fairview 15" Pigtail.

Compatibility & Fitment

This pigtail hose is the standard connection for dual-tank propane systems found on towable RVs and campers. Key compatible setups include:

  • RV Regulators: Fits most two-stage auto-changeover regulators (e.g., Marshall, Cavagna, Fairview) that utilize 1/4" Inverted Flare inlets.
  • Propane Tanks: Connects directly to standard US 20 lb, 30 lb, and 40 lb refillable propane cylinders (QCC1/Type 1 valves).
  • Vehicle Types: Ideal for Travel Trailers, Fifth Wheels, Truck Campers, and Pop-up Trailers with dual-tank configurations.
  • Note: CRITICAL: This hose features an Inverted Flare (threads are on the outside of the nut, but the seal is at the internal cone). It is NOT compatible with 1/4" NPT (pipe thread) regulator inlets without an adapter.

When to Replace

  • Smell of Propane: If you detect a "rotten egg" scent near the tank or regulator, use a leak detector solution immediately. A leaking hose is a high-priority safety hazard.
  • Damaged Braiding: If the stainless steel mesh is frayed, kinked, or broken, the internal rubber hose is no longer protected and may burst under high pressure.
  • Leaking at the Tank Nut: If gas is hissing from the large green QCC1 nut even when tightened, the internal O-ring or the thermal safety check has failed.
  • Age (5-Year Rule): Propane hoses are exposed to extreme weather and vibration. For safety, it is highly recommended to replace RV pigtails every 5 years regardless of visual condition.
  • Stiff or Brittle Ends: If the rubber visible at the fittings has become hard or shows "dry rot" cracks, the hose's structural integrity is compromised.

Installation Tips

  • Safety First: CRITICAL: Ensure both propane tank valves are fully closed before removing the old pigtails. Work in a well-ventilated outdoor area away from any open flames or sparks.
  • Thread Preparation: PRO TIP: While inverted flares are mechanical seals, you should apply the included gas-rated seal tape to the male threads of the flare fitting to ensure a perfect, lubricated seal. Never use tape on the large QCC1 hand-tighten nut.
  • Hand vs. Wrench: Tighten the large green QCC1 nut by hand until snug. Use a backup wrench on the regulator while tightening the 1/4" flare nut with a second wrench to prevent twisting or damaging the regulator body.
  • Purge the Air: After installation, turn the tank valves on slowly. Open a stove burner inside the RV for 15–30 seconds to bleed the air out of the lines before attempting to light the furnace or water heater.
  • The Soap Bubble Test: Always spray a mixture of dish soap and water on all connections after installation. If bubbles grow, the connection is leaking and must be re-tightened or re-sealed.

A true classic
Size: 7, Color: Maple Suede
One of my favorite shoes ever! Been wearing these since the 90's. They have changed a few things since then but I'd say the overall quality is still great. They fit true to size and are very comfortable right out the box. These are one of the most versitile pairs of shoes you can own. They go with almost any outfit. This time around I purchased the sand and beeswax colorways. If you've never owned a pair I highly recommend these.

Clark's Wallabee's are the best shoes ever made!
I was looking for a new pair of shoes, after one of my Clarks casual shoes (made in india) literally split in half. It only had 8 months of use! I was so angry, so much so that as a loyal Clark's customer I vowed to move on to another brand of shoe. So I began my search, and search, and search... I just couldn't find any pair of shoe that exited me as much as Clark's did. I began to reminisce on my first pair of Clark's that started it all. The Wallabees. The quality in craftsmanship, the nice thick leather, the stitching, and the indestructible weird looking jelly soles. These things could take a hit. I mean I wore them consistently for two years and they just wouldn't budge. I eventually needed something different, so I put them in the closet; only to come out when ever a pair of shoe wore out and I needed a something while I made another purchase. After about 2 years of that I realize I shouldn't be buying more shoes I should be wearing my wallabees. So I wore them for several more years until I finally decided its was time to part... What a mistake. Here I had a pair a shoes that lasted me almost a decade I parted away for no real good reason. It took me many more years of wearing other Clark's and other brands to come to this realization. The Wallabee's are the best shoes ever made! I broke my vow of not buying Clark's after that indian made piece of crap, and decided to buy these. To my surprise the wallabee's are no longer made in England or Ireland, but instead made in China! I was sceptical as to how great the quality may be. I mean I lost faith in Clark's after all. But after careful inspection, these shoe's look, smell, and feel just like the originals. The craftsmanship looks the same as well (a little more modern support). I did some research and turns out China has one of Clark's best shoe factory in the world. I can not judge these shoes by where is was made, but how they fare out with the old ones. So far I'm very very happy! I will wear these and put it to the test of time, and see if they will go for almost a decade as my originals did. At this point they once again take their place as my number one favorite pair of shoes.

Love them!
Size: 7, Color: Maple Suede
These are a classic! Amazing materials and product. If you have never owned a pair, be aware that the soles will get dirty quickly and visibly noticeable. I would say true to size in what you were in sneakers.
